Given the last five years, was 2002 a good football season for sportsbooks?

I realize it sounds like a stupid question, but I was just wondering if one year was significantly better than any other?

Is there any way of knowing?

2002 FB season was very good and came on the heels of a loss in the prior superbowl and a poor basball season after that.

There were quite a few books taking standing 8 counts prior to the NFL kickoff in 2002.

This year is again a tough year for the books in baseball but they came into the year stronger and the superbowl was a small win.

If the favorites start covering in the NFL it could be a LONG season for the books (and anyone with money in them).

Buzz:

You're accurate on that. A lot of the weaker books were up to "here" with cash flow issues.
