That is a very famous question....

The better question to me is....
Who were the 12 players taken ahead of Kobe Bryant???

My point is....that Jordan still went #3 and now at the end of his career we say that the 2 teams, especially Portland, which took Bowie, may have made the biggest mistake in Draft History. Yet that is just 1 team making a huge mistake. There were 12, count it, 12 teams that passed up on Kobe Bryant. At the end of his career, that will be a bigger anomoly then the 2 teams that passsed up on MJ.

my own 2 cents

Yeah true, BUT he was a high school player, and a way bigger risk...

You can go down many professional draft boards and point out very big mistakes....

Karl Malone is another, there are so many...

Mike Piazza going in the 30 something rd...

a long list.....

The Jordan question is famous because he ended up being considered the best NBA'er of all time. My point is after Kobe's career, he may be thought as the best ever. So it might be a bigger thing.

And big deal, so MJ went 3rd. Its not like he went in rd 3 like Montana, right?

Olajuwan should be in the top 10 but older players who dominated a less athletic game back in the 50's, and 60's usually get the nod in the top 10 over a dominating all around player like Olajuwan.

Olajuwan in my opinion is the best all around center of all time.
