Let's say this happened... (It ain't going to, but I can certainly pray)

A rainstorm comes through Boston all of a sudden and the game is canceled tied at 5-5 in extra innings... would the total bet win or be canceled since it did go a full 9 innings?

No action I would say. Game has to be completed. Rules are different for sides and totals. In this case it would be no action on the total or the side according to what I am used to.

Don't quote me though, not familiar with all the rules the books use. I rarely play them but this is a pretty standard call I think.

Your question completely depends on the book. At some shops, if 9 innings are played, and the game is rained out in exra innings, the total is graded based on what the score was at the time. At other books, ANY rainout without completion of a game (ie winner) then the total bet is n/a. This even holds true if you bet o9 and the score is 5-5 going into extra innings. If that game is rained out, certain shops grade that play as n/a just as they would if it only went 6.

Check with your book.
