Are the pay-offs the same at all or most books. For example if I took a 3-team parlay of +110,+164 and +190. What would be the winning pay-off? Appreciate any help.

Its real simple, convert these lines to decimals and add 1.

+110=2.10 +164=2.64 +190=2.90

Multiply by your wager amount then subtract wager amount for total payoff.

Here you go using a $10 parlay for example

$10 x 2.10 x 2.64 x 2.90 = 160.78 - 10 = 150.78

When a Moneyline is used in a parlay, such as for Baseball, there is no set payoff. Instead, payoffs are determined by a simple formula that changes the Moneyline into a decimal number and combines it with the other lines in the parlay.

The first step is to change the Moneyline into a decimal.

1. If the Moneyline is a dog (+) add 100 to the Moneyline and divide by 100.
2. If the Moneyline is a favorite (-). Divide the moneyline into 100.
3. Multiply the amount of the wager by the numbers generated by the above formulas.
4. Subtract the amount of the wager to arrive at the parlay payoff

Example: $50 parlay Yankees -135 Cardinals +220

(+) 220 + 100 = 320 divided by 100 = 3.2

100 divided by (-) 135 = 0.74

$50 x 3.2 x 0.74 = $278

$278 - $50 = $228 payoff

5. Use the same formula for any number of teams up to 10.

You can do up to a 10 teamer with this calculator:

http://sportsgambling.about.com/blcalc.htm

If betting on a favorite, find the conversion below (note that some (many) places don't go to as many places after the decimal point in order to give a lessor payoff)

If betting on an underdog, take the price and add 100 to the line.

Two team parlay example:
Mets -130 to Cubs +115

100 (Amount Bet) x 1.769 (Mets, look up -130 below and find 1.769) x 2.15 (Cubs) = 380.35

380.35 -100 (Amount bet) = 280.35

Note that most places will round down to 280, possibly less if they were only using 2 places after the decimal. For example, using 1.76 instead of 1.769 for the Mets gives a final result of 278.40, which would be rounded to 278.

Conversion chart for favorites

The actual formula to figure out the conversion is (100 / line) + 1.00, but I find that most people prefer to just refer to a chart.

But, so that you know, this formula is what is used to get the decimal odds on a favorite.

For example, for a line of -127

(100 / 127) + 1.00 = 1.787

101 = 1.990 130 = 1.769 159 = 1.628 188 = 1.531
102 = 1.980 131 = 1.763 160 = 1.625 189 = 1.529
103 = 1.970 132 = 1.757 161 = 1.621 190 = 1.526
104 = 1.961 133 = 1.751 162 = 1.617 191 = 1.523
105 = 1.952 134 = 1.746 163 = 1.613 192 = 1.520
106 = 1.943 135 = 1.740 164 = 1.609 193 = 1.518
107 = 1.934 136 = 1.735 165 = 1.606 195 = 1.512
108 = 1.925 137 = 1.729 166 = 1.602 200 = 1.500
109 = 1.917 138 = 1.724 167 = 1.598 205 = 1.487
110 = 1.909 139 = 1.719 168 = 1.595 210 = 1.476
111 = 1.900 140 = 1.714 169 = 1.591 215 = 1.465
112 = 1.892 141 = 1.709 170 = 1.588 220 = 1.454
113 = 1.884 142 = 1.704 171 = 1.584 225 = 1.444
114 = 1.877 143 = 1.699 172 = 1.581 230 = 1.434
115 = 1.869 144 = 1.694 173 = 1.578 235 = 1.425
116 = 1.862 145 = 1.689 174 = 1.574 240 = 1.416
117 = 1.854 146 = 1.684 175 = 1.571 245 = 1.408
118 = 1.847 147 = 1.680 176 = 1.568 250 = 1.400
119 = 1.840 148 = 1.675 177 = 1.564 255 = 1.392
120 = 1.833 149 = 1.671 178 = 1.561 260 = 1.384
121 = 1.826 150 = 1.666 179 = 1.558 265 = 1.377
122 = 1.819 151 = 1.662 180 = 1.555 270 = 1.370
123 = 1.813 152 = 1.657 181 = 1.552 275 = 1.363
124 = 1.806 153 = 1.653 182 = 1.549 280 = 1.357
125 = 1.800 154 = 1.649 183 = 1.546 285 = 1.350
126 = 1.793 155 = 1.645 184 = 1.543 290 = 1.344
127 = 1.787 156 = 1.641 185 = 1.540 295 = 1.338
128 = 1.781 157 = 1.636 186 = 1.537 300 = 1.333
129 = 1.775 158 = 1.632 187 = 1.534 305 = 1.327

For underdogs, just add 100 to the line and divide by 100.
EVEN = 2.00 (100 + 100) / 100
+101 = 2.01 (101 + 100) / 100
+102 = 2.02 (102 + 100) / 100
etc.

Good Luck,
Bart
