hi Journeyman,

Yes it is not too expensive.. it's in a smaller town so rates are not all that bad. They have alot of good restaurants and other entertainment as well. If you like golf they have a good course that alot of baseball players play on and I got alot of autographs in the clubhouse.

have fun!

Cooperstown is a really nice town - both picturesque and quaint. I have been to all the major North American HOF's. The mystique at Cooperstown is something which must be experienced first hand by any baseball fan.

RPM, I AM "THE" EDDIE MURRAY FAN!

When I was living at the ocean, I`d buy the Sunpaper just to see the Dodgers boxscore when he was out there...yes I was a little obsessed,lol...I think i cared as much about 500/3000 as he did .....

Visiting Cooperstown is a once in a lifetime experience. One of the nice things is how quiet and quaint the city and surrounding area is. It may not be like that during Induction weekend. Will be far more people than usual. I could easily have spent a week there instead of one day. A lot worth seeing, including an awesome baseball library.
The only bad thing about the BHOF is too many underserving players are enshrined. I think Eddie Murray is deserving of the Hall, but why would anyone like him? He was a first class prick to the media, and anyone in the media resents him. Outstanding player, though.

PLENTY OF GREAT BALLPLAYERS DON`T GET ALONG WITH THE MEDIA...

I DON`T JUDGE WHAT THE MEDIA SAYS ANYWAY...

I SAW HIM PLAY DAY IN AND DAY OUT HERE IN BALTIMORE THATS WHY I LIKE HIM...

FUNNY THAT RIPKEN CREDITED MURRAY FOR HIS DRIVE AND LEADERSHIP....WAS CAL WRONG?

NOT TOO MENTION HE WAS THE BEST HITTER IN BASEBALL FROM 1982-1986...

YOU CAN`T BELIEVE EVERYTHING THE MEDIA SAYS..

IRONICALLY THE MEDIA VOTED HIM IN

It's true that many fans could care less how a player gets along with the media. As a member of the media, however, you can't help but form a negative opinion about somewhat when they treat you bad. It says a lot about the media they would vote him in, since many despised him.

Are you aware of why he turned on the media? there is a reason, and are you aware of this man`s charitable contributions? just curious, I haven`t seen the media talk about that though.

Journeyman- You'll love it. It's a baseball shrine to people that love or even like baseball. I was there 2 years ago. Get to the Hall of Fame and Museum early because there's so much to see. There's also some really neat memorabilia and souvenir stores (overpriced) along the main drag and some good lunch spots as well.

Hotels and motels- I didn't stay up there but people have said book early because there's not a real big selection.

Parking- It's a bitch. If you can, park in one of the many lots around the area and take the trolley. It stops right at the Hall of Fame and they run like every 5 to 10 minutes and go to each lot. I think the total cost was 2 or 3 dollars and well worth it because parking is very tough. Enjoy.
