Being a former jarhead myself, I want to thank all those marines and former marines who have and are serving our country. All you civilians are getting great value of your tax dollars in the Marine Corps. America's 911 force. And all you army, air force, and navy guys out there; your good to go too.

You are absolutely correct. Those values will be imbedded within our makeup for the rest of our lives. I served @ MCRD San Diego, Ft. Sill Oklahoma (cannon cocker for my reserve unit during college), Quantico for OCS and TBS, Kaneohe Bay Hawaii (platoon commander), MCRD Parris Island (Series Commander), promoted to captain and then hit by a car while out running and two back surgeries later and a medical discharge here I am.

The fact that you need to bash patriotism and the pride that I and general enjoy from our service in the Marine Corps really illustrates your insecurity and ineptness. To try and compare the honor and respect that most americans give those that serve in the armed forces to that of a union ironworker would be laughable if it wasn't so disgusting. Your contribution to society as a union goon who only cares how much he can squeeze out of the system is about as meaningless as those patriots from France. I probably could have made more money than I did as a 2LT in the Marines when I graduated from College. But the honor to lead Marines and the responsibility I was given was enormous. I had more than 50 guys under my charge as well as about $10 million in equiptment at the age of 22. A wonderful opportunity. I personally feel, that service demands and gets respect from most americans. But I really don't have much respect for some ironworker who works on a line doing the same mundane task over and over and is a self prescribed idiot. Your existence is meaningless in the grand scheme of things here in America. Unions are finished. 1992-1996 USMCRD Parris Island, Camp Lejeune NC 0331 Infantry Machinegunner 2nd BN 2nd Marines, Twentynine Palms(stumps)for CAX(2 of them) 6 month UDP Okinawa & Mt Fuji (cold weather training on the mainland) Cuba and Haiti (Op Uphold/Support Democracy USS WASP SPMAGTF) After that was with 22nd MEU for a short time (didn't enjoy the thought of ship life for 6 months so transfered out) 1st BN 2nd Marines (Corporal/Squad Ldr) Another 6months Okinawa, and Korea. FAP out to MC Base to serve with an MP unit on front gate duty at Lejeune (my arm is still sore for saluting studbolt!) Thought about OCS but with Slick Willie as my commander-n-thief I just EASed. Sometimes I wish I had gotten the butter bars but I orginally went in enlisted because I didn't want to be one of those lost Lt.'s like "Ring" in Heartbreak Ridge or the boot lewey in Platoon who about got fragged. Having said that I was priviledged to serve under some OUTSTANDING officers as well as SNCO's and enjoyed being an NCO myself. Anyway a salute to all former and current people who served in the armed forces and a special salute and Semper Fi to all Marines!!!
