ALL TIME WORST BAD BEATS... LET'S HEAR YOURS

Search
Mine was yesterday. I'm still fuming about that Bears - Browns game. Up 14, getting 3- and with less than 40 seconds to go in the game. That has to be one of the all time worst. The sorry bastards can't even lose by just three. NO, let's really stick it in Max. I still don't believe it. That game is the reason a person shouldn't keep loaded guns around while sweating games.

I have a friend that had the YANKEES HUGE last night (50 dimes on Yankees)...

Knowing RIVERA is as close to a lock as there is, he went to bed after Marianno Rivera struck out the side in the 8th inning...

He called me this morning and was raving about how easy that win was...

When I told him he actually lost, he didn't believe me, then hung up the phone in shock!

I haven't heard back from him yet...

I took a beating on that game...rams should have won and i'm still fuming and they had their bye week this week...I didn't have any action on the browns/bears game..but saw it on satellite...unf'ing believable...

at least arizona won the world series..so that helps ease some gambling tension...

another big choke game was almost the chargers/kc game...kc was up 19-0..and chargers game back to take a 20-19 lead in the 4th...i had kc on this one and lucked out...but i was definately sweating it...

Another bad one was the Oilers Bills playoff game about 15 years ago.does anyone rember the details?Oilers blowing them out at half and Bills came back to win.

Told this story before.I had Rx in 86 series. The day of 6th game was at a wedding.after the reception we were in a bar.Thought I had my play won,so was buying rounds for everyone.we all know what happened. Not only did I lose bet also had a $300 bar bill.

My personal least fav was back in the '80's when I had the Raiders and the over 36 and the half time score was 35-0 for the Raiders.

Yeah, you guessed it, the game finished 35-0....

i had the under 9 1/2 orioles this year
orioles leading at home i think it was 3-0. 2 outs nobody on, top of the ninth and the game was called by rain. no action on the total....pisser. camelot even sent an e-mail to eveyone who was on that one.

i had the under 50 on the mich game this weekend. touchdown made the total 50 but they never kicked the extra point which would have given me a loss on the last play of the game. does anyone know the rule in college on that one? in the nfl they would have made them come out of the locker room if need be to kick the "meaningless" x-point to end a regulation game.

Last year I had a 14 teamer at Olympic paying 68,000 and change and I lost by one ****ing game! it was Dallas Stars to beat Nashville Predators and ironically my ONLY -200 plus fav on the ticket Nashville took a 2-0 lead after 1 and never looked back. I still hate both these teams with a passion because I couldnt figure out which one to blame LOL

Being up by 12 runs in the 7th inning with a team that won 116 games and losing isn't gonna be forgotten anytime soon.

Mine wasn't as big as BP's... just a $20 parlay for 7 teams at 100-1 odds at Caesar's Palace.

I hit all the Sat. Col. games but lost USC-8 with a score of 23-16. I was rip snortin' drunk when I checked the score and threw my ticket in the trash. When I sobered up, I noticed that the score was 28-16 not 23-16. So in effect, I tossed a $2000 winning ticket into the trash can.

Yes Surfboard, it is TRUE!!

The first 5 dime bet I ever made in my life was the nfl playoff game 2 years ago between Buffalo and Tennesse. I had Buffalo +4.5 and what came to be was the Music City Miracle, or in my case the Nashville Nightmare! Anybody remember this one?

sorry judge - i had the bills -3 in that oilers' game and consider that the luckiest push of all time.

my worst was about 5-7 years ago. i had a 6-team parlay - 3 NHL games and 3 college bowl games.

i put up $40 to win about $1,700.

the NHL games were all laughers - they won so easy it was embarrassing.

first bowl game was army +7 over auburn. army is getting KILLED 32-7 going into 4Q. somehow army scores the next 22 points to pull within 3 - lines up for a fg to tie with a few seconds left. i am praying for them to miss it cuz if the game goes to OT, auburn could score a td first, stop army and win by 7 - giving me a push. the army kicker shanked about a 30-yard fg for me to win.

second bowl game, va, tech +16.5 over nebraska in the orange bowl. i recall coming thiiiiiiiiiis close to taking tech +10 in the first half instead of tech +16.5 in the game. tech trailed by 10 late in 2Q when jim druckenmiller threaded one to a receiver to be down 3 @ 1/2 and making me upset i never made the bet. 2nd 1/2 nebraska pulls away somewhat. they are up 34-21 with about 3-minutes left. they have 3rd and 12 at the tech, say, 20. i figure i am looking good. if tech holds them nebraska will kick a fg to go up by 2 full 8-point tds, 37-21 - and i will win by the hook. except scott frost has other ideas. he takes the option play, never hands it off and run for the td. i've never said the word "f***" so many times in my life - but i also realize tech can get the back door td to gimme my cover again and it appears they will do just that. they run some sort of a gadget play and next thing i know tech appears to be running back the kick for a td. but, they get stopped around the 20. no biggie - i need 20 yards and i figure nebraska will give them the score. tech gets a 1st down and now has the ball inside the huskers 10. on 2nd down, tech runs a draw. it works great for there isn't a husker defensive player within 10 miles of ken oxendine and the goal line. however, there is a tech lineman lying on the ground and somehow this motherf****r TRIPS over his own lineman and falls short of the end zone (i take back what i said above - HERE i uttered the word "f***" more than i ever have in the past). that's right - all this a**hole had to do was step over his fallen lineman and he scores, making it 41-27 and i get the cover. the next 2 plays druckenmiller throws incomplete passes and i don't get the cover. the game cost me $2,200 - $1,700 on the parlay and $500 in a bowl pool - i took 3rd for $100 when i woulda won the $600 1st place had tech covered. ever since that day i have hated scott frost and ken oxendine. i reallllllly hated druckenmiller - especially when i found out he was dating julie lynn cialini for 3 years. for those of you who don't know who JLC is - do a yahoo search on her. she is an almost 6-foot playboy playmate of the year who i have met in person and she is even better looking in person. i was happy when she dumped him figuring he had it coming. i was also happy when druckenmiller got in trouble for allegedly raping a va. tech student when he came back a few years later.

oh, yeah, as for the other bowl game, i had byu +3.5 over kansas state - and byu won by 4.

so those a**holes at va. tech cost me $2,200 and i hate them - and i hated them even more 2 years ago when the lost (and failed to cover) against FSU for if they had covered there i woulda won $100 for finishing 3rd in that same bowl pool.

needless to say i will never be an invited guest at VT.

I had the vikings + 5.5 at washington in 1986.

Minnesota was leading 38 - 26 with about 5 minutes to go in the game.

Washingtin scores to make it 38 - 32, they miss the extra point.

With about a minute left, Washington scores again to make it 38 - 38 with the extra point coming up. You guessed it, they miss the extra point again! 38 - 38 to overtime.

What are the chances of a team missing 2 straight extra points?

Im sure you know what happens next, Jay Shroeder (remember him?) hits Gary Clark with a bomb, touchdown skins.

Final: Washington 44 Minnesota 38

I've had bad beats after that but none was as bad, although I have to admit, if I had the browns yesterday, it would be close.

The total was 1 1/2 rounds. I (like a dumbass) figured that Tyson would want to break a sweat after the layoff. My buddy who I was working with screamed at the top of his lungs...."You dumbass Country, McNeeley won't last a 1/2 of a round!!!!!". Well with my pride on the line, I responded "Put your money where your mouth is." I bet a weeks pay that the fight would not go over a 1/2 round. "All McNeeley has to do is dance for 90 seconds" I thought. Well when the bell rang, he charged Tyson and.....Well you remember the rest. Bad beat + Interoffice humiliation = Bad Parlay.

I'm glad McNeeley is a crackhead....Country

I'd consider the Oilers/Bills game Judge Wapner mentioned, but, technically, the game ended in a push. Oilers were +3 and with Warren Moon going off, were ahead 35-3 at halftime iirc. TV announcers were already previewing the Oilers' next round matchup. In addition, Jim Kelly was hurt, and it was absolutely inconceivable that this game was not over. Frank Reich came on in the second half and started hooking up with Don Beebe and Andre Reed in a furious comeback. Oilers managed only 3 points in the 2d half and game went to OT. Bills won with a FG in OT. I ended up with a push on the game, but it sure as hell felt like a loss. /infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
