Of course. It's real simple. Science is our only other logical option. If science created the universe, who/what created science?

Religions are another story...

Theres a God and he/she/it aint got a religion.

Religion's for human vanity, tribalism and tradition.

Its whats in your heart/soul that counts.

Boy, thats a topic that people are sometimes scared to talk about, I have some questions, and believe me sometimes I'm scared to even think about them or ask someone else, I believe, wait I know there is some other "power" out there, in regards to the "relions" I believe Its people interpreting the Bible in their own way. So thats VERY contraversial, If there's a God, I believe there is, BUT, there are quite a few things that puizzle me in regards to the bible and earth, "funny I'm asking these questions in a gambling Forum,
So here goes guys and girls, lets see If there's any one out there who can answer my questions.

1. If you read the bible, it says Cain left the family and marry a girl, Ques. If he went to marry, who was she, if Cain came from adam and Eve and adam and eve were the first.

2. If Adam and Eve were the first on earth, from my knowledge, a chinese man and woman cannot make a black child, so where do black, white, chinese, asian, etc, etc come from if a man and a woman started the whole thing.

3. If the earth is round, how come people are not falling off, I know about gravity, BUT, how come any where you go on earth you still driving and walking on FLAT ground.

If earth is in the galaxy/universe, etc where is the end, what else is there, what I mean is this, lets say a foot ball field is our galaxy and a foot ball is earth, is there a end of the football field, and then something else, but when I think of this I get a little cooky and have to think of something else, cause it makes my brain go doozy.

These are some very mind boogling questions, Some might have answers, some dont, but dont think tooo much It will drive you nuts, I kinda think we just have to let it be.
Have a nice day Guys and Gals, I'm not an athesist or anything, just a regular church Guy.

i'd like to take a shot at your questions:

1) cain married his sister. genesis tells us that adam and eve had many sons and daughters. so, they all had to marry each other. a nasty thought in today's society but, there's really no other explanation. something that is now taboo (incest) was allowed in the beginning.

2) whether you believe in creation or evolution, you must believe that in the dna of the first human being existed the potential for all the different human characteristics we see today. the creationist says that all people came from adam and eve. the evolutionist says that all people came from apes but it says that one "race" of humans evolved and from that "race" came all the races we see today. no evolutionary theory i've ever heard says that an african race, a white race, a chinese race, a hispanic race all seperately evolved from apes.

3) not really sure i understand this question. i guess i would say that what appears to be flat is probabley slightly curved...even if it is fractions of a millimeter. but, i'm really not sure on this one. the one thing i know is the earth is clearly round and it is gravity that keeps us from flying off.

Sorry to break up the Alter-boy convention ...
... but I don't actually believe.

I just don't see anything to believe in.

BUT I hope I'm wrong (unless, of course, that God sends all the aethists to a buring enternity of hell)

do you believe that the earth is eternal or do you believe it was created?

Blue, I really have no idea ...

.. I doubt it has always existed as a "planet", perhaps is is indeed a collection of dust/energy formed over trillions of years.

For me, stating that the unexplained is evidence of God is fallious logic ... it could simply be that we can't haven't deducted the true causes.

I thing faith is a great thing for society & humanity, but that's it for me ...

To each his own ... I do respect everyone's beliefs as we can neither prove or disprove God(s).

Blue,
Not trying to dodge the question ... but I see this a the chicken/egg problem ...

if the earth exists who created it? God.
if God exists who created Him (it/her)? Dunno????

the point i was trying to make is that, you have to believe one of these two possibilities:

1) matter is eternal. whether the earth has always existed or it was formed over trillions of years by random forces working on gases, explosions, etc. nothing created it.

2) matter was created. everything we see had a beginning sometime, somewhere. if matter had a beginning, logically it had to have an outside force bringing it into existence.

this is really the first question to answer in the process of determining whether or not God exists. which one of these you believe will determine the next question you ask and how you view the world.

Both, I don't believe in spontaneous generation, but specific to "Earth" I doubt it always existed ... however something (particles, atoms, ???) I would imagine must have always been

If God is an everything that He would have been created too, yet Christianity explains that God always was ...
... inconsistant.

Blue, if you can convince me then you'll be my hero. I was raised Catholic, confirmed Catholic ... but I just never really believed.
I'm a "prove it" type ... my thinking is always logic first ... faith isn't a consideration.

I see where Lander is coming from, and I think we have a similar beliefs.
However, instead of using the lack of evidence as a reason for there not being a God, I tend to look at it differently. I look at the "how else did we get here" and i can't come up with a better answer.
Therefore, combining that and my personal experiences, they lead me to believe there is certainly some higher power somewhere...
