Baltimore everaged 97 wins a season from 1969 to 1983 (exluding strike years) AVERAGING 97 WINS over 15 seasons!

And from 1969-1971 won a staggering 318 ballgames...

Since 1984 the O's have won 97 or more games just one time

Joe Altobelli....

...anyone could have managed the 1983 O's to the title...Weaver's stamp was still clearly on this team of veterans...

Baltimore clinched with about 2 weeks left in the season, this team could have easily won 105 games, instead resting for the playoffs and winning just 98 gms.

Their pitching has got to improve.They are starting to look like Texas,take care of everything else then look for pitchers.Pitching comes first in baseball,Fla. Marlins last year is perfect example.The O's haven't had a top notch pitcher since Mussina.

Their farm system has been horrible for years. Can't really think of a good pitcher out of their organization in the Peter Angelos era.
