Phoenix has a fascination with over-achieving white guys (Dan Majarle, Steve Kerr, Tom Gugliotta, etc.). They are Celtics west. Makes marketing sense since probably 99% of their season ticket holders are white. I'm suprised they never picked up Bobby Hurley or the white Jason Williams.

No. Grant (and Eddie Jones) have bad contracts. Miami has been trying to trade them for years, but no takers.

Grant and Jones both signed in 2000, 7-year deals.

Steve Nash is a playmaker and a scorer. He's worth that amount just as much as any of the others in the league making that much! Good for him.........

You don't see it often anymore now~a~days, but Grant is one of those players that was very talented with Portland, but when given the big contract.......decided to stop giving much in return

Touching upon what ppeter said earlier along the lines of Phoenix wanting whites.....

Yeah, they have a fetish for wanting white players to sell thier tickets, that's why they'll never bring a championship trophy back to Phoenix.....can't find enough good white players around to stack a team of them to beat the Kobes and the Jordans of the planet....

Nash would be extremely overpaid if this contract came through.......

Cuban acting like no one would outspend him. Well, I guess he got a reality check.

There isn't a contract with Nash yet, just a handshake. They can't sign contracts for a couple of weeks yet.

So what about the Dallas point guard situation now? Daniels is a sieve on D, although on a team of sieves. Does Devin Harris step right in? Steve Francis?

classic posters chimed in this thread, wish Nash and Dirk would have won a championship together in Dallas awhile ago, they were fun to watch
