Francis cant be shocked..Rumors all year long he was being shopped..Van Gundy never loved the kid in his offense..he needs to be in motion and running..Thats where he excels..So many times during the year it looked like VG was ready to lose his mind..

With managements promise to VG he can do it his way, this move not surprising..Now he needs to focus this off season on bringing in guards to make it happen up front..

I like Gaines alot..Jackson and Lue need help..Griffin is swing player..

General, there's a reason that every single Houston Fan is elated to be rid of Francis. The guy is an above average player, a semi~star at best. A streaky, up and down player that compares well with the former Knick, John Starks , that is sometimes flashy and catches fire, with exciting dunks, but the next night stinks it up. Maybe the Magic have intentions of trading away Francis themselves after they rid of Grant Hill's huge salary also, freeing up a fortune in order to just start over completely...........again!

Not only do you lose a Superstar and top 3 player in the league in McGrady, you also lose one of the league's "good guys". Ive met T~Mac twice, and he is one of the few down to Earth NBA players there are that is just a flat out great guy who also does for others......

Hache is on it here. Stevie "I was the franchise" Francis is vastly overated. He is not a good distributer, nor a good decision maker. He can be a great playmaker, or make a bad play. Jacks way too many trey's. Very quick, good first step. Plays out of control on too many possessions. Reminds me a lot of younger glove, where it has to be his team. VG does not like that. Plus he takes too many defensive plays off. VG gets rid of players like that. Cato is a throw in, 3rd team in as many years. Tweener with atheleticism, bit lanky for the low post area. Good worker and defender, no offensive game. Bench player. Losing Mobley may hurt. Was best outside shooter, good team player, and defender. Dead eye with open looks. Rockets got two scorers with Juwan and Tracy. With Yao it will be hard to double anyone low post. Plus all 3 are active defenders. VG loves the grind out half court sets. Very similar to Motown already. Plus he needs better ball control possesssions, as they are much more critical in this low scoring offense.I feel Lue will do what he is told, and not showboat with the big scorers in the lineup. Most of the offense will go the through Tracy or Yao now. This is the one trade I knew was going down. I would not be surprised to see the Van Gundy bros facing each other in the Finals within 3 years...Best Wishes...OF
