is allowed by bigger bookies in the big city to call off his action quite a bit after the games start for atleast football. This is trust for sure between the parties.

I've sat in different offices(betting and booking) where small to medium BMs & Pros were always allowed to call after the kick to off their action and play for their own pockets, due to busy phones at post, and anyone that thinks an early 7-0 or 3-0 lead in the NFL means squat, or takes a shot with a side that they originally didn't care for due to merely the early jump, can attest that it is flipping coins in the end.

Taking 11/10 in the end longterm, still eleminates what little you may be grabbed from time to time, when someone alters their intended original call/plays due to their jumping on early returns.

Bad Karma costs 'em in the end!

I have a local that does the cards and lays them off to a bigger guy. He plays a couple of cards with 5 teams or so teams that are leading 7-0. This guys is a real scumbag, but he is backed by good money and I make 30% on any cards I sell so I don't care what he does.

Exactly Mondo, anyone that banks cards or smaller action, knows they'll be grabbed a lil' by some past-posting, but it still a profitable endeavor, so it must be written off as overhead for the legwork provided.

I will have to disagree General regarding trust. In most cases everyone is looking for an edge and being given the opportunity to dish off plays after kick-off does give one an edge and the action is usually sharp....reason books take the action is "greed" and will always be watching the scoreboard as they take the wagers. In this business as long as one pays their debt they are a stand up guy......at the time of placing/taking everyone is looking for an edge unless your a square.
