Hello,

I just read this:

Manager Rudi Voller has several injury worries with Dietmar Hamann, Bernd Schneider and Bastian Schweinsteiger all on the casualty list.

Hamann has a thigh problem, Schneider is struggling with an Achilles injury and Schweinsteiger damaged a calf muscle in training earlier this week, but all three are expected to recover in time to take their places in the squad.

Meanwhile, Bruckner is set to rest some of his biggest names for the game.

Captain Pavel Nedved is one of those likely to be left out with the Czechs already assured of qualification and top spot in the group, while striker Jan Koller and winger Karel Poborsky could also be rested.

Tomas Galasek too could find himself on the sidelines having picked up his side's only booking in the dramatic 3-2 win over Holland on Saturday with Bruckner unlikely to run the risk of the midfielder picking up a ban when he does not need to.

Sounds to me like they will be resting some of their top guys.
Germany must win this game, and are sitting at -145 at Betrio. compared to -125 previously.

This looks like a "solid" bet

I see it up to -153 (CRIS) now. Interesting line movement. Best of luck.

You have to like Germany with half the Czech team being rested, however, the Germans haven't looked good and it's not like the Czech subs can't play. Have you seen Heinz come off the bench in both games and dominate?

A lot of them feel like they have something to prove and should give a tense, pressing German team a tough game.

proabably a very wise bet, however it looks like we missed the value....

Perhaps pounding the Czechs at the last second may be the play here Value wise...

what time does the game go off eastern?

I just noticed, Germany is -130 at ABC

The match starts at 2:45pm Eastern.

If Hamann misses the match, that may be the best news I have heard yet for Germany - he has been nothing short of atrocious.

Germany generally play well when under pressure, but based on present form, they are a very risky bet. The defense is shaky at best, the midfield hasn't had an original idea in the tournament, and the strikers have been invisible.

Also, the bench warmers on the Czech bench aren't crap - Baros, who scored twice against the Dutch, came off the bench against Latvia, for example.

No bet for me - but best of luck to everyone, and hopefully Germany will do the business.

Good post... agree with everything you said. They could win today but the Germans are a risky bet and I'm passing, I would rather take Holland today and the Over as they will pressure Latvia from the start today.

AGREE WITH RIVER
THIS MATCH IS NO BET FOR ME
GERMANY UNDER PRESSURE AND IN BAD SHAPE AND EVEN SOME INJURIES AND ON THE OTHER HAND CZECH TEAM WITH MANY KEY PLAYERS RESTING AND VERY LOW MOTIVATION
IMHO WILL DECIDE WHO SCORE FIRST

Much like the score the teams look pretty even right now, should get interesting in the last 15 minutes or so.

Another Holland goal would give me a nice start to the day though.

The Czechs are only playing defense 20 min. into the 2nd half. They're doing a good job of it, though, as the score remains tied at 1-1

Yeah sounds like Schneider should have just scored 67 mins in.
They are saying on ESPN Gamecast that Germany will regret him not scoring at the end of the game

Of course
Germany has how many shots on goal in the 2nd half?
And then the Czech get one attack and they get the rebound to go.

Germany should have been up 2-1 at that point, and then it would have just made it a tie

Thanks Scneider

Czech have definitely looked like one of the top 3 teams in the tourney. Next up for them is Denmark on Sunday.

Holland up 3-0

It's not about how many chances you have to score, it's about how many you put in.

Germans did not play well today. It is sad to say, they along with the Italians are no longer powerhouses in European football.

Last time round they nessed up against Portugal reserves, this time it was the Czechs. They did well in the World Cup but had a very easy draw.

It is not looking too good for 2006 for them in the World Cup at home.
