I want to start by saying I am a small bettor who is learning, so be nice.

I made a withdraw via neteller a week and a half ago, the money was in my neteller account in 10 minutes. But here is the problem, the book still hasn't debited my account! It is a mid three figure sum.

Could they discover their mistake down the road and confiscate my entire account?

I know what I need to do, but it's tempting not to.

Has this happened to anybody and what did you do?

Thank you

Tell em. You have your money, at some point they will figure it out anyway. Best to do the right thing and let them know your balance is wrong.

i would just keep track of where you are at so you know. Dont use the extra as leverage. But hey if they go belly up and transfer your account or something you have a bit extra to help with the 10X rollover!!

Thanks wil, I know what I have to do. Just been putting it off.

Do you think they would give me a bonus for being honest?

Never know for sure but some books do reward players for being straight with them. Maybe a $50 match-play.

Wil, I agree he did the right thing, problem is, would the book have done the same for him?

With me it comes down to which book it is and what my experience is with them. If I felt they've been unethical with me in some way like doing switcheroo tricks on the lines or having one-sided line changes or many more errors against me than in my favor or slow pays or anything else, then I might be inclined to keep quiet. But if they've been good to me, then I'll be good to them also.

Books I've had (or have) accounts with that have never done anything even remotely unethical with me:

WSEX
Olympic
Grande

Yes, that's it. Three only, compared to about 40 others I've had accounts with. Unethical stuff ranges from minor stuff like one-sided line changes to major stuff like outright stiffings.

Honorable mention goes to Pinnacle whose only fault of having one-sided line changes got eliminated about 9 months ago.

One-sided line changes means that you are not actually getting the juice they advertise. In "fast market" conditions, the juice you effectively pay could be 20-30% more without you even noticing it. This is one topic that is heavily under-discussed around here IMO.

Mr. Leisure, this exact thing happened to me at WSEX a few months ago. I withdrew $2500 from Wsex to my Neteller account and was paid quickly. I went to my playing account a few days later and noticed the $2500 had not been removed! So naturally, I withdrew $2500 again, and they paid again!! So I made $2500 off of WSex. It felt good for the first ten minutes, and then I realized it was ethically wrong to keep the extra money. I phoned WSex and it took me about 10 minutes to explain to them what had happened. They had no clue. I agreed to send them the $2500 back without delay and they were appreciative. They agreed to give me a 10% bonus on my next deposit with only a 1X rollover. Sure it didn't amount to $2500, but in this world I think honesty is important. Wsex has always been a fair book to me, and they have paid quickly. I believe in this world that it is our duty to do the right thing, and not to sink to the low levels of some of these Sportsbooks out there. Otherwise, we are no better than they are.

Some more very good books with whom my beefs have been only very minor:

Canbet -- didn't get the $50 sign-up parlay bonus because my claim about where I saw the ad did not match the url from where I sent my account application. Otherwise good shop -- always pays on time and no funny business with lines.

WWTS -- once processed a withdrawal and they deducted the bonus erroneously claiming I didn't meet the rollover requirement. One problem was that they didn't give me a chance to defer the withdrawal request based on information I presumably didn't know. The second problem was that they were wrong. I kept accurate records of my wagers there and mine was right, theirs was wrong. A few emails later they apologized and it all got sorted out.

Hollywood -- line changes were only showing after I hit confirm and not on the confirmation screen. This problem has since been corrected.

5dimes, V-Wager and IIS - selective line changes -- never had the line move in my favor (online). This problem can be averted with frequent screen refreshes. If you place your bet within 30 seconds of a refresh, you can be pretty confident you will get the line shown.

One (apparently) elite book I've never had an account with is CRIS, so I can't comment on them.

I think I've covered all the elite books. The others need no explanation because there is a reason they are not elite.

You did the right thing Mr. Leisure. I'm sure Sportsbooks that have their local help on the Neteller trigger, this sort of thing happens all the time.

Play wiht enough books, and play long enough, this type of thing is bound to happen. You are laways best off to report the error immediately. By not doing so, the book could potentially void all wagers you ade from the time the error was made. They could alos contact neteller, and request that neteller take the money out of you account..

Aside from being unethical, it is a very risky move, not to tell.
