Famed sports bettor Bill Baxter made a couple of appearances during the Sportscenter piece on Stu Ungar. The segment chronicles the last days of Ungar's life. Should repeat several times later today.

Great yet heartbreaking piece on Ungar and his daughter Stefanie. You must admire great heart, smarts, and belief by the Georgia Peach to stake him, and the love of Sexton,etc..for The Kid!

Wil, BB was also on Fox Poker tourney the past week, playing Negreanu, Duke, Keller,etc..where they made note of how even new to No-Limit, that he had 30 WSOP titles in Limit play, plus that as "being one of the world's largest sportsbettors" that he wouldn't sweat a certain raise by Negreanu.

Intriguing to watch the debatable world's best sportscapper play the debatable current world's best Poker player..I wonder if Negreanu could swim with BB head-up in Boxing, Football, NBA,etc

..but admire both of them as much for their skills as also seemingly genuine character as people also.

I just wish ESPN could've milked a few football futures, season win totals, and halftime plays out of him before the piece was over.

Shoe, Yeah I saw the Fox poker show. Very sad story about Stu. BB looks pretty spry.

Baxter was long thought to be among the very best in draw games, but I am not sure how good he is thought to be in the games played these days. A guy I know that plays the deuce to seven event in the WSOP every year still says he thinks Baxter is always the man to beat, but has run unlucky or not played it much in recent years.

The ESPN Stu Ungar piece was done and shown several months ago. ESPN just dusted it off and showed again to wet people's appetite for the World Series of Poker 2004 airing Tues on ESPN.
