Why just a Friday? Why just any one day? Why not everyday?

its a perk. some books cant get by (See Vegas) with reduced juice but they throw a bone out there for people ready to go on Friday. The more bones the sportsbooks throw the better. encourage these types of things.

Friday is possibly the worst day to bet NFL. Why not throw a nickel out there to attract some action? Best Wishes...OF

Frog,
Why is it the worst?

I'd guess that it's because the openers are played out, and the lines won't start moving again (significantly) until some late injury information releases.

Just curious - NFL is my weakest sport.

It is a dead day for NFL. Sharps buy openers, Sun night and Monday. Carib has 2 cent Tues, another slow day. Heavy days of course are weekend. Take it from a DB screen watcher. Not to many moves Tues-Fri. After the openers get nailed, you may not see another move until 1 hour before post. Just the nature of the sport, and how betting habits remain the same. I could take a bunch of openers, leave them open, take Tues-Fri off and they still would be the same when I start back on Sat. Colleges much different. Exceptions, injuries during practice, BW gets bored. Unlike the crappy bases moves, a lot of one way wrong ones, football has some nasty steam chasin reversals. I really like basketball, but I love football. Except for the ramifications of a turnover, easier to cap and find value, biases and bad numbers...Best Wishes...OF

I went an embarrassing 0-5 in NHL for 2004. To say I suck at NHL is an understatement. Brutally bad. Every game save one was an OT loser. I really do not comprehend how you cap a game where there are so many ties and OT games. In other sports these are swing games that are the minority. Seems like NHL swing games are the majority. At least I realize how weak I am, and choose my losers infrequently. Sad...OF

If I'm playing 5 dimes on one game 250 might mean a little of the vig at a -105 shop but if a player plays 100-500 does 5$ or 25$ really matter to go and play at a -105 shop??

That's why I feel props are usually much better to play in the NHL OM than the actual game itself. Also, I feel your assumption with the NHL can be compard to MLB, too unpredictable in my opinion......

Game to game is nearly impossible ... sometimes the puck just doesn't bounce the right way, but I strongly believe that NHL lines are the weakest amongst the major ones ...

but, you guys are right - it's something that you really have to grind out over several months.

If a 1/2 point edge is worth 3.2 then isnt it worth it for even $5.00 for a small capper. If we bet 20 games in a couple of weeks duringthe football season its a Bonus Bet every 20 bets how bad is that? after all green is green

It used to cost the books a lot more money in bandwidth and long distance than it costs today. The -105 gimmick started back then to get the players to bet on Friday and not clog up the phones on Sunday.
