Texas was strapped with the A-Rod, salary its no coincidence they are playing winning baseball for the first time since before they signed Alex Rodriguez to 250 million dollars...

Can they steal the Western Division and perhaps play the Yankees in the fall? With the young talent of Blalock, Young, Soriano, and Texiera, they sure are turning heads...

If the playoffs started today the West would have two post season spots...

The season is half way over with most teams having played 80 or 81 games. Not many would have predicted the Rangers would be in much better shape than the Astros - playoff wise. Can Texas win the West or a wild card spot? Sure, but look for all 3 teams in the West to hurt each other battling head to head in September. Personally I still like the Angels to win the West.

Chuck, nice number. I see Barry Zito got lit up tonight and fell to 4-6 on the year (ERA around 5.00). Unless he can turn it around in the 2nd half the A's will be hard pressed to win the Division with just Mulder and Hudson holding ERAs under 4.00.
