Women Fined $71,000 for Drunken Driving

OSLO, Norway - A well-to-do Oslo businesswoman was fined a record 500,000 kroner (US$71,000) for driving drunk, Norway's biggest newspaper reported Tuesday. Police gave her a breath test and found her blood alcohol level was 0.2 parts per million, or 10 times the legal maximum in Norway, Verdens Gang newspaper reported. The trip lasted about 100 yards, and stopped when she hit a third car.

 PATCHOGUE - A Suffolk County grandmother is under arrest for allegedly driving drunk with her 7-year-old granddaughter in the car.
Officials say Wanda Carter was pulled over just before 3:30 a.m. Saturday on Sunrise Highway in Patchogue.
According to police, they clocked the 42-year-old driving at 88 mph.

Police say Carter's license has been suspended 28 times and there were two warrants out for her arrest.
