Anyone see that moonshot Manny just launched off the Coke bottle, high overtop the Green Monster

If Ortiz wasn't batting in front of Ramirez he would have a reasonable chance at winning the Triple Crown.

By the way, I cannot recall a ball being hit much further over the Monster than that shot.

WOW.

Make sure you see the highlights of this one posters.

I'll start with Willy Mays. May's 660 homeruns were hit mostly in Candlestick Park when the stadium in centerfield was completely open to the incoming wind from the San Francisco Bay. Any other stadium, and he may very well have been the current all time HR leader.

Manny is on pace for the ALL-TIME RBI record, probably about on pace for MAYS mark of 660 homers, and a lifetime .319 hitter.

Not sure if MAYS is a better HITTER or not.

At this stage in their career, I would say MANNY.

We've been over this J Man.

When its all said and done they will talk about Willie, Hank, Manny and A Rod from the right side.

I havent seen too many guys like Manny that when they hit it , you know its been hit.

OMT- Willie Mays is an immortal and of course the name alone ...but take a closer look at just the hitting stats..Ramirez may very well be just as good as Mays...

He has a .317 lifetime avg. (Mays .302) and will pass Mays in lifetime RBI someday...its very argueable...

Sorry guys, but comparing Ramirez to Aaron and Mays is like comparing Smarty Jones to Secretariat.

Kind of gives you an idea the player MAYS was.......imagine a guy ALMOST as good as hitter as Manny but with speed and great defense.

Saw Mays his whole career and he is still argueably the greatest all around player ever. Bonds is pushing him however.

No need to compare the all around game...I am talking strictly hitting the baseball...Ramirez numbers will be in the elite company...

He will go down as the alltime RBI man, nothing more important for a hitter to do than drive in runs IMO...(see Eddie Murray) and "oh by the way" he hits .317 lifetime!!!
