What happened to all the solid local bookies

I am a relatively large player, and I play around a dime a game. My local of four years shut down after baskets and referred me over to one of his buddies who books, and he promptly cut my limits to $200/game.

What happened to the guys that aren't afraid to book a bet. Guess I am out of luck, since I refuse to use offshore ever since I had 11k vanish in the panam fiasco.

Sorry about venting.

Thats is funny mr. dimeplayersonly. So I sold a database? I assure you it is authentic, and the buyer was VERY happy. So I gamble on sports too? Whats your point? You can cut the smartass comments out, and mind your own bidness.

woudnt you feel safe at British or Australian Book? One that has Stocks in their Company...

William Hill, Bowmans... They have been around for ever & are probably even safer (IMO) than the greek or Pinny.

Bookies have very tough competition, the only thing they have going for them is they let you bet on credit (Which is very dangerous anyway).

thenuts..........sorry you didnt like the sarcasm.......dont take it personally........

from what you say.......your local of 4 yrs shut down after baskets.........and your new out has you on a two-dollar limit...

i am assuming this is for baseball correct????

such low limits for baseball is not unusual for locals (even some offshore)........

the local who booked your action before.......should have turned you over to someone that would accomadate your action.......personally i would never turn a player over to another shop beforehand without the player knowing how the new out works... ie. betting limits, rules, ect....if your old out put you on for a dime........he has to know someone else that will put you on for the same amount..

if all else fails use the old "i have a friend who wants to bet" routine (the old way to scam books using multiple accounts...lol)

Same problem here really. There is no new talent so to say to pick up the business from the old local books here. I often wonder if it is my destiny to take over in the future around here. Not sure I would like that headache. A few buddies is one thing, but a large base would be a whole new world.

What happened to them? Using the Internet and sperior information, we bludgeoned them to death with their own soft lines.

A dying breed, unfortunately, like good economy airlines and good penny stocks.

Nuts,

Sorry to hear about the PanAm fiasco....how about using an agent for a more reputable offshore outfit so you're not tying up your funds miles away? There have been some threads on this topic already.

I have a solid local bookie about 1 hour away that gives me up to 5 dime credit if I like, who sends the money Fed Ex weekly if I/you win. He now even uses a database online to make things convenient for some of his customers, although I will/would still call and use him instead since his lines & juice are better....

Moon88:
I have a genuine gripe here. Am I looking for a place to play now? YES. Is there anything wrong with me posting about it? NO.

As for the horse plays, I get those from a buddy who gets them from a bookmaker. I don't play with him because it doesn't make sense geographically.

Why can't people just take these posts for what they are and not look so far into them. I am a new poster, and I am tired of having to justify what I post.
