Question about friends and sportsbetting

i have a couple buddy's that know MLB, NFL, NCAAF inside and out.

they know stats out the ass. in other words, they know a lot aobut the teams. and can pick the winners most the time

on the other hand they know nothing about online sportsbooks, or sportwagering for that matter.

can someone that is so knowledgealbe in sports be successful in sportsbetting?

i try and tell them they should give it a try, but they wont bother. one of my friends i will start paying for his picks, he is that good, and doesnt even bet.

have you ever been in a bar, and heard these people talk sports, they know their shit, they could make money in the process, but they dont bother??? what gives?

In my opinion...sports fans like that are the worst bettors in the world. I am one of them! lol

In all honesty, it is those that can find value in numbers and keep their emotions and personal feelings out of it that do best at sports betting.

People on ESPN think they know alot about sports(sometimes they report the news before don best) too but they dont know about the math(probability and satistics)part of sportsbetting and the numbers.

i think there is some correlation between a solid sportsfan and being able to pick winners. It has to do with "situations" When you see a situation with your home team for example and you have a good feeling they will play well or poorly becasue you have seen that situation before. ITs like pattern recognition. ITs a great way to play sports and the guys who watch every day and follow the home teams often have a pattern or two to fall back on. I am not talking 100% winners here Im saying 55-60% kind of thing.
id tell them to give it a trytrytry. But be selective at first. They will have no clue what Value is and what trap plays are. but if they just play the pattern recognitions type of plays they might find some winners and begin to understand line movements, traps, value of 1/2 point etc. etc.

What is knowing sports mean? Does that mean you are good at sports trivia? Does that mean you THINK you know a sport?

The AVRAGE NBA Fan is a complet moron. People think Kobe Bryant is a superstar. But the reality of it is Billy Laimbeer is a better shooter, a better passer, and a better rebounder than Kobe ever thought of being.

Bill Laimbeer was a power forward and Kobe Bryant is a shooting guard. How in the hell does that comparison make any sense???

Not to mention no one ever guarded Laimbeer.

Danny Ainge was 10 times the shooter Kobe is. Danny was a smarter player, better passer, better athlete.

Thats another thing wrong with the nba, everybody thinking in terms of 2 guard or a 1 guard instead of just being a good basketball player. This is the main reason why the nba has become a joke.

Nobody thinks for themselvs. Same goes for Peyton Manning. You get the media and sheep telling the lie enough times, people start to believe it.

Danny Ainge much better athlete, much smarter athlete.

Danny ainge scratch golfer, 3 pt shooter winner, 92% lifetime ft shooter, played in MLB, was all american wr in highschool, yes much better athlete than the brick laying, no passing, rapist.

For the record...I don't like Kobe Bryant. But at 6'6" or whatever he is, I would take him against most as far as athleticism is concerned.

Ainge was a great shooter, but that is the only aspect of his game that is better than Kobe Bryant.
