They are starting to pull away from my Cubbies right now, and getting amazing pitching...

The Cubs are finally getting healthy, and alot hinges on how well Wood can pitch Sunday in his comeback, and if he recovers fully...

But even so, the Cubs are already 7 games out, with hardly any games remaining against the Cardinals...

Can Carpenter continue to pitch like this? will Woody Williams pitch like the first 2 months, or the last month? Will Jason Marquis continue to win? and will their bats keep hammering the ball?

I have faith in their bats, but sure hope the pitching starts to give out....Isringhausen can be a sporatic closer, however, if they are leading by 5 runs every game, it doesnt really matter...

Hopefully the Cubs start making a run now with a Prior, Wood, Zambrano, Clement, and Maddux rotation, and Sammy starts slamming...

But the Cardinals are really making it tough....I would have thought Houston would be our biggest obstacle, but the Cardinals are playing really well...

The Cards were vastly underrated coming into the season. Before the season started LaRussa said the Cards will surprise. Same old Cubs. Choke city. They better win today or Sunday or the Cards will have the Division locked up.

Their 3,4, and 5 starters have been excellent so far, if this keeps up they will be hard to catch.

Yeah, Cubs can't get swept right before the break.....very bad for the psyche....they definitely need 1 game, and preferably 2...

Wild Card would still be very reachable for the Cubs, however, you hate to already start thinking about that this early....Just need to get it in gear...

Damn Cardinals...

I would think this schedule would even out soon. The Cubs haven't played a team with a losing record in over 6 weeks. Looks like the injuries are starting to catch up a little bit with the Cubs.

Will be glad when Ramirez is back, his bat is sorely missed...

Looks like the wild card race for now...

Surprisingly the guy that might be missed the most is Gonzalez at SS. The Cubs are 29th in turning dp's. They really need a leadoff hitter bad. The nights when Maddux pitches is a wreck with Bako. He cannot hit and everyone runs on him. The lineup they used last night I never want to see again with Bako and Rey Ordonez in there.
