Let me start by saying thanks to all the people who shared their useful insight during the time that I have spent on this site.
As you can see by the registration date, and the times I've actually posted here, I'm a regular visitor - probably five or so times a day - but rarely had I posted over the past few years.
Sometimes, the RX and other such watchdog sites get an unfair rap, but think about where this industry would be without them. For every Panam incident, I would be willing to guess the number of bettors who have been directed toward a Pinnacle or Oly is tenfold, thanks to this site, so in my opinion, it more than serves its purpose.
Tonight is my last post, as God willing, tonight I made my last wager.
I know, if we had a dime everytime that statement has been uttered, there would be no need to bet.
Like I said, God Willing.......
Tonight, I lost a pair of games in a fashion that almost suggests I was meant to end it this way.
Not only did I lose the games, but I am soon to lose the two most precious and dearest gifts ever bestowed upon me - my wife and daughter.
After years of destroying our credit, good name, material belongings, ect, I made a promise with my wife never to bet again. Of course, at the time, I knew full well that I didn't intend to live up the the promise, but hey, we're all just one big win away from solving everything.
Tonight, money that belonged to the family was taken out of our PPATM account, and lost in the ninth inning of two ball games.
Had I won? Oh, a few hundred dollars. The very sad part is, I would have just taken that money and continued to wager until I most likely would have squandered it all away.
Now that I lost? The only two things that TRULY matter in my life will be gone.
After pouring in every last penny I could get my hands on, the account is exactly $151 short.......so I basically threw my life away for $151.
Sunday, Bobbi is going to check the account, see the missing money, and that will be that!!
I have no true personal friends on this site, and in fact I have never even had an online conversation via email, IM, ect with any one of you, so this isn't a "good-bye" as much as it is just a plea - Do Not Let This Happen To You!!!
Just like this site gets a bad rap, I believe gamblers as a whole are given an image that is prejudicial and unfair.
Most of you who will read this use common sense, restraint and good judgement when gambling. The vast majority of those who read this will simply walk away thinking, "he got what he deserved," and to that, I cannot argue - I totally agree.
But if I can change the life of one person, to me, this is worth the effort.
As I write this, tears are pouring out of my eyes, knowing what lies ahead.
I think about the past few years, and the number of times I didn't take the daughter for a walk, because I had to stay in and listen to see if I won or lost a few bucks. The time that I could have - should have - spent with her, reading a book, playing games, BEING A DAD!!!.... I will never, NEVER!!!!!! have an opportunity to relive those moments. They are gone forever.
I had one chance of being the perfect father to the most precious, innocent, sweetest girl in the world.
I COULD have succeeded, and the VERY SAD part about it is the fact it would have cost me nothing!!!!.......NOTHING BUT TIME!!..... And instead, for the past four years of her life, I was wrapped in a nightly world of sporting events that won - or in my case most of the time - lost me money that in the end wouldn't have bought me what I truly wanted.
Guys, do not let this happen to you!!!
If you have a son, daughter, wife, girlfriend that you truly care about, think about the consequences EVERY TIME you place a bet.
Is it worth it? Is there ANY chance that losing - or even winning - a bet can affect your life or those who you love??
Come Sunday, I'm going to be told that my gambling habits were more important than my family, and I am in no way going to have a valid argument for the statement.
My life will change forever, and it will be a moment I will regret until the day I die.
PLEASE!!! ... .Never, ever put yourself in this situation.
Take Care Guys...Thanks for all the enjoyable moments, the laughs, the solid suggestions, ect.
God Bless!!

What the hell is wrong with you? The guy just posted some very personal information, about how gambling has ruined his life, and the only thing you can write is a tip on a game tommorow.

You should be ashamed of yourself!

For cheif, only time can heal open wounds. Take it one day at a time. Just say you will not gamble for today, don't ever say you won't gamble again.

In time, you will look back and this will all have been a learning experience. Everything will eventually be ok.

Chief,
Do yourself and your family a favor and join G.A. Tell your wife you have a desease and want to stop with the help of G.A.. But you have to take the first step and call! 151$ is nothing really but I'm sure you are talking principle! Borrow the 151$ from someone today and get it back in that account and explain to your wife what you did and that you want to go for help and if she loves you she'll go to Gamanon too! To learn how to cope also! Buddy its not one day at a time its one minute at a time! Your family comes first before ANYTHING else in life! Call and go to a meeting TODAY to show your wife you mean business! Get a sponsor and have him call your wife, things will be OK as long as you want to stop gambling! BUT if you really don't want to stop than don't waste your families time! Good Luck buddy!

Tough story to read. Good luck, and never give up on your family. And don't let them give up on you.

I bet the wife doesn't pull the plug in the end. Our friend will beg and plead and she will be dumb enough to give him another chance. Luckily most women aren't too smart and don't have the courage to do the right thing ie. dump his sorry ass.

What I just said was deliberately insensitive. The worst thing IMO is to give empathy to a compulsive gambler. This is the fuel that makes the habit continue. They know that when they lose they don't really lose because they can find suckers who feel sorry for them and help them. If everyone was like me and gave cold shoulders to compulsive gamblers there would be a lot fewer compulsive gamblers around.

chief- NOTHING is ever as BAD as it seems...you are still alive, the money (only 151) can be replaced very very easily...I know thats not the point, but I think you will re-think your reasoning after a good night sleep...meaning, you will realize its not the 'end of the world'...

Nothing worse than losing on bad beats , but I would be most concerned that you took family money...hope you can get passed it and find yourself...

remember though NOTHING is as bad as it seems!

I NEVER am on this site when I "NEED" to be doing something with them ...

maybe you just need a 2 or 3 month break....and bet maybe once a week....at least you will then be "free" like you want to if your not a action jackson betting everyday....you only have to worry about the scores one day a week also you can try never betting with money that you can not afford to lose, think of it as "entertainment"....Good luck Sir

Your post mirrors what has become of you you these past few years of gambling. It has given you a defeatist attitude.

I am sure you and your wife have had the knock down drag out fights, I am also sure the usual "I won't do it again" and the "If you do it again..." have been exchnged. But you already have your life over and it hasn't even happened yet.

You talk about never as if it is a certainty, when you haveno odea what really might happen. Anyone that gambles, and loses has had these issues with their significant others. I am sure some ahve even bilked funds from shared accounts.

So it isn't like this is the first time. BUt maybe it is rock bottom for you. The 151 isn't the pouint obviously, it is what it represents. And at least you realize that it does represent SOMETHING.

That is the first step for sure. Definately get some help. Because it is apparent that you have some pretty serious issues, just in the way that you automatically have given up, to admitting you have no friends, to the pouring out of your soul to a bunch of guys on an intenet forum. Granted, they are probably the best audience, having possibly gone through it before. But still not the best audience.

Take it step by step. Tell her before she finds out, ask her to help you get through it. Be sincere, and if she berates or insults you, take it, don't get defensive. If you truly want to keep her and your daughter you basically have to strip yourself of your dignity. Might sound harsh, but in reading your comments, the alternative (at least to you) are going to be worse.

I can tell you one thing. And it is cliche' but it is the truth...Time heal alls wounds.

So what looks bad now, won't be so bad a few months down the road. As long as you do get the help you need.

It's amazing no one has offered to send this guy some money.

Chuck Sims, I really hope you lose all your bets.

Can one of the mods give this guy my email address that I have registered here so he can email me with his neteller id.

Dante, this guy has an illness - he needs to be treated, he is a very very sick man.

You will be doing him more harm than good, he will blow it real quick on betting, listen if he had $1000 on the prepaid atm , it would have been gone as well, he cannot control himself
