Shaq is not gonna do any difference on the Heat. While odom and the other guys will do on LA!

Thanks for the tip on Mavs at 10-1 Fezzik. Think I can get 50-1 now. Great inside source. You just killed your followers on this one...OF

The draft pick may not be part of the deal, just a 3 for 1 swap.

Miami should throw in Malik Allen and Rasul Butler ... and then listen to Shaq moan he's on a team needing players.

Both team are the worse for this....

Miami can't win with just Shaq.....

LA can't win without Shaq.....

Kobe and Shaq don't get it.....THEY WILL NEXT SEASON....

When Fezzik said that there was certainly a better than 1 in ten chance of it going down. It isn't like it was minus 500 or something for crying out loud.

Better recheck that Royal Fan. He said better than 60% chance, from his inside source. Also he said to buy Mavs at 10-1 to win it all. I called him on all of it. Ooops...OF

My source is pretty strong. I give the deal a 60% chance. I love the +350 at betwwts.com. Slam that one in for their $300. Fyi, I noticed virtually every offshore has pulled their NBA futures odds. I'm guessing this may be due to getting bombed with Dallas bets from those in the know.

Just so there is no misunderstanding, the info is from ESPN News and only says Shaq will be OK with a trade to Miami. There is not an actual deal already done. I am not advising anyone to make future bets or change the ones they have. Hopefully more information will be forthcomming soon.

The reason they asked Shaq is because both teams have come to terms. Shaq could veto trade, but he blessed it. Just a matter of press conference now...OF

I don't think Miami is giving up that much. Odom is a great (but high-risk) talent. Grant is decent, but his contract is TERRIBLE.

And if the Heat send the Lakers a 1st round pick (instead of Caron Butler), that pick won't be worth much. With Shaq, the Heat will win 50+ games for the next 3-4 years.

This leads me to believe that other teams are gonna see the relatively low price for Shaq and swoop in with better offers. But who knows. Maybe the other NBA teams have already given up on the Shaq sweepstakes?

Butler makes or breaks the deal because he is really a guy they need to go with Shaq and Wade. The other two guys are easily expendable with Shaq patrolling the middle. Brian Grant has to be among the most overpaid guys around. He never has had scoring touch and never really a force on the boards. Much of the time his game is just taking up space and getting in the way. You think about how bad the guys the Lakers have in that spot, Medvedenko and Walton, this guy won't upgrade them at all. Odom is a nice player, but there are plenty of guys out there who have equal game. Butler could be something much better if they give him a little more time. He kind of reminds me of Mike Finley early in his career. He showed signs of good things to come in Phoenix, but to get J Kidd they had to give up on him before he became an All-Star.

The Funk Monkey makes a good point, if this deal goes down the Heat really aren't giving up a lot at all, it almost seems like a steal for the Heat. The Eastern conference is so watered down anyway, with no real big men down low, having Shaq + Wade would automatically make Miami a legit conference champ contender.

Shaq coming here would be perfect for him. He lives in Orlando in the off season, and is just a short plane ride away. Plus, if you're going to leave LA, coming here to Miami isn't a bad place to go, entertainment and night life wise, Miami can hold its own with LA and keep him plenty amused.

If the Pistons sign Rasheed, how could the Heat be favored to win the Eastern Conf?

The Pistons destroyed Shaq & Kobe. Don't you think they'd be favored against Shaq & Miami?

The Heat are still missing huge piece without a point guard!! Wade will be much better off playing the 2...I would also rather give up a number 1 pick then Butler...maybe Derek Fisher will sign with the Heat for the mid-level exception and shaq will throw him a bone...not sure what his value is or Miami's salary cap issues if the trade goes through

No, I think Shaq going to the East/Miami, will make them favored to win the East. I am not saying they will, just who will be favored. Best wishes...OF
