Skybook.com outperforms previous expectations

Christopher Costigan, www.sports911.com

Although Skybook.com works within a limited marketing budget (when compared to a company like BetonSports or Bodog.com), the company still made tremendous strides over this past year, especially in the search engine SEO sector.

We were pleasantly surprised to find that both the terms "internet sportsbook" and "sportsbook" were ranked an impressive #3 and #17, respectively, in Google.com. The term "sportsbook" typically converts well within the top 20 spots. Search engines have played a major role in driving traffic to the various gambling web sites.

Skybook.com experienced growth during these past 6 months, with overall signups increase of 87 percent over that period of time according to our Skybook insiders.

"Skybook’s logo, URL and name are now recognized by a broader audience than just the venues we advertise with," stated Marketing Director, Bob Greer. "This is due mostly to our tremendous push in the search engines."

Cost effective ways to generate deposits such as “Free Gifts” have resulted in over $200,000 in deposits, from a mere $8,000 investment.

"Advertising liability issues have scared many online, radio & print advertisers away from doing business with Skybook.com and other online gaming companies," commented Greer. "Finding legitimate advertising solutions has become close to impossible and this in turn has encouraged us as an organization to focus more on the search engines."

In February of this year Skybook.com around the time Greer got the ball rolling, Skybook had approximately 10 to 15 key word rankings in the major search engines like Google and Yahoo. To date, Skybook.com can be found on page #1 for 1,000 different key terms on Google, Yahoo and many other search engines.

Newsletter marketing is another staple of Skybook.com. A weekly average of 25 new subscribers and over 600 opened newsletters was recorded. However, recent spam guards imposed by many of the major ISPs, including America Online, has hurt the email marketing sector tremendously. The Skybook newsletter does not show up in AOL due to its HTML design.

Skybook.com's #1 selling point is the "Free Half Point Specials" and in response to this promotion, the sportsbook has implemented a unique marketing campaign. Central to the campaign is a cartoon character aptly named "Half Man". He is rumored to be a little on the fruity side even though the folks at Skybook attempted to pair him up with a female who resembled Trek.

Overall, Skybook.com has upgraded its product and services tremendously during the past few months. The brand continues to outperform expectations.
