to anyone from chicago

i'm taking my wife and son to chicago in august for a long "cultural" weekend. you know, the art museum, planetarium, aquarium, etc, as well
as a baseball game and trip to the track. was wondering if anyone could steer me towards good places to eat, we'll be staying near the magnif. mile.

Ruth's Chris is twice as good as Gibson's, same for Lawry's...Avoid Gibsons, all about being seen..

Mia Franchesca is also very good, Mortons,Chop house, Carmines and Tavern On Rush. It will take a good two months to eat at all the good spots. Chicago has the best food by far, please don't try to tell me New York is better.

So many places a must Pizza at DUE across from Shrine audatorium,als Rons of Japan,. these two are walking distant from where you will be staying.Have a good take a walk down the lake front

Any of you guys ever heard of or tried Phil Schmidt's in Whiting Indiana? That’s about as good as it gets for boned and buttered Perch and Frog legs. The Frog Legs are the absolute best anywhere!!!

This place is AWESOME, close top a huge Horseshoe casino too.

How can you go to Chicago and not get a beef sandwich? As my friend says "you can get a steak anywhere", but we can't get a Chicago beef sandwich of any quality around here...

Brock Its a long way from downtown .I will tell you a story about Phil Schmidts.I went with a friend who weights about 400 lbs .We oder the perch. which is excellentand all you can eat . After about a hour of eating and many orders of perch .My friend said more and we were ask to pay the bill and leave.

Joe's is hardly a Chain my friend. you are like it is Chili's -- there are 2 in the country one more to be added in Vegas in the next few months.

Hugo's is another excellent selection.

Ruth's Chris is by definition a chain. You can eat there in any major city in the US.

You want the flavor of Chicago and its people stick to the places I mentioned....or dont.

Phil Schmidts is great as long as you dont mind driving a half hour outside of the city in bumble Indiana and mind eating with white trash america.
