It is amazing to me that the Feds are picking on some people for advertising offshore sports books when the big boys in advertising are just getting started.

USA TODAY has offshore odds
NY DAILY NEWS
MSNBC promotes handicappers on covers.com and has covers offshore odds as well.

How is it fair for some and not for others?

Fox gets away with it because that corrupt bastard Murdoch lines the crimal Bushie pocket books BIG time ...

... same reason they didn't go after him with an anti-trust suit.

Totally agree on this one. Was amazed to still see Party Poker spots after the Feds flat out stole money from them for running ads on Discovery Networks. Those still running the ads must "know" something because I sure wouldn't want that hassle

If you look at the newest poker commercials on the tube, you will notice that they focus on 'Learn How To Play Poker For Free...'

Mo mention of playing for real money.

Regarding USA Today, MSNBC et.al., I wonder if the deal there might be related to the fact that Covers buys the space, and is a Canadian company.

Wonder why they don't go after MSNBC. I guess Murdoch owns that company too.

MSNBC is democratic, Murdoch has nothing to do with them

As far as Covers being Canadian-they are advertising offshore stores run mostly by Americans-plus the Justice Department finds places that sell picks and places to play those picks a total conflict of interest.

The big scam these days with online poker rooms is to have players on the phone with each other.

For instance players A,B,C are all friends and on the phone telling each other what they have in their hands. Player D is doomed as he is playing against all the other players.

Johnny,
TruthTwister was being sarcastic.

He'll protect anyone and anything that has a connection to Bush - even if it is a criminal that bought an illegal horizontal across the media spectum.

I now see why they call you Slander. You never answered my question about why they are not going after MSNBC.

I think this is like the "Speed Limit Law". Have you ever noticed while traveling on a busy interstate hwy. The posted speed limit might be 55mph. Most of the traffic is traveling about 65-66 mph. You come to an area of the highway, where all of a sudden the traffic slows downs for no apparent reason. Then--there it is the State Police have pulled some old clunker over. For a half mile or so--everyone is now driving 55. Ok--Now now it's ok to go 65 to 75 again.
I figure law enforcement finds it easy to pick and choose. But CAN YOU IMAGINE GOING AFTER THE DAILY RACING FORM? Just too tough . This paper is the Horse Players Bible!
