First thing you need to know is public opinion and public perception is a lie, and they believe lies and they promote lies, and 99% of people are sheep.

Ted Koppel, Peter Jennings, Jim Grey, are compulsive liars, and are paid MILLIONS to keep lies in tact.

Next thing you need to know is Peter Gammons, Sean Salisbury, JAy Bilas, are NOT experts, they are TOTAL MORONS.

Ill be back with more thoughts a little later.

that young blonde haired kid that covers CFB is pretty good though. maybe they havent had a chance to corrupt him yet.

actually, the key to handicapping is to just fade me in the marty j baseball contest. I went 0-5 yesterday. i dont know how i can stink it any worse for you guys. but this is the price i pay for blindly picking dogs.

never blindy pick dogs.

Why would you say that Bilas is a moron? Always thought he did a nice job.

Are you telling me that Sean Salisbury doesn't know everything?

Railbird is right. ESPN is a huge propaganda machine spreading deliberate disinformation to the sucker masses. The mass media lies to the people and then bets against them using the "genuine" information they don't let you in on.

Damn, the NE Patriots must have REALLY sucked last year...

Rail,
Please read what you post and think about it before you hit the "post now" button. That last post of your's might have hit a new all-time low for absurdity. By deffinition, a long winning streak would mean a team isn't bad.

Gl on your tennis play.

I read it, and here is what Railbird said:

"Bad teams can go on long winning streaks."

Bad teams CAN go on long winning streaks. RB did not say that a team is bad because it goes on a winning streak, nor did he say that ALL bad teams go on winning streaks.

Or maybe you would disagree that a bad team can go on a winning streak?

That's exactly what I'm disagreeing with, Banned. "Bad teams" don't go on "long winning streaks". If they go on long winning streaks then they're not bad, simple as that. They might have less talent, be poorly coached, be in a stronger division but if they're capable of a "long" winning streak then I don't consider them a bad team. Just because a team doesn't reside in Cali doesn't make it a bad team... the former being Rail's criteria for being a bad team.

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays won like 13 games in a row earlier this season, and they ain't about to go to the world series.

If you're using the deffinition of only the teams that go to the World Series are good then there are only two good teams in MLB each year.....

My definition of "good" is not necessarily restricted to world series winners. I know that anyone's definition of "good" would NOT include teams that are under .500 (which the D'Rays are).
