WHICH ONE-EYED ESPN GUY IS WORSE?

If you could eliminate one lazy eyed guy from ESPN who would it be Stuart Scott or Dick Vitale?

6 months ago i would have said Vitale, because the guy is the most fake person on TV. Is there anyone in the world of basketball (sports for that matter) that he doesnt think is AWESOME baby!

Now the award for worst sports personality on TV is Stuart Scott. The only thing that guy has said that i thought was remotely funny was "he is cooler than the other side of the pillow" and that was 8 years ago when he was doing sportscenter w/rich eisen.

This guy is awful. He loves to hear the sound of his voice, and apparently the upper brass at espn agrees. He just like vitale offers no insight, which used to be the case w/espn anchors. If he wants to be an actor, then move to LA. ESPN sucks for putting people through this torture. I think they believe ratings have went up the last year or so because they have a national monopoly since cnnsi went off the air. Bottom line is that their programming has done a serious tailpain in that time period and i know many people who simply turn this crap off other than sportscenter, PTI, and occasionally the sports reporters. (Sure baseball tonight, and NFL primetime are good, but berman is not far behind stu scott and vitale when it comes to annoyance).

So if you had the call to get rid of one guy at espn who would it be..

I'd give Scott the BooT-Yah because he is on 12 months a year whereas we only have to put up with Vitale 5-6 months a year.

Stuart Scott is the so bad that it hurts to watch him. He is incredibly annoying as is most of ESPN now. They want to be personalities rather than sports anchors....No doubt he got the job b/c he is black. Bring back John Saunders in that role b/c he had class.

Scott is pathetic, as is Chris Berman. I haven't watched sports center for at least a year, espn news much better.

Have to disagree with you. ESPN is still the king! I'm not much of a Stuart Scott fan, but Chris Berman is the man. I love his nicknames, and I don't think he's annoying at all. Vitale does annoy, and I hate his favorite team, Duke, but still like what he gives to college basketball. Sunday Night Football crew is the best in the business, with Mike Patrick and Joe Theismann. Love ESPN! And face it, what's the alternative, Big Brother 7?

Chris Berman used to be the man 10-12 years ago (with names like Lance "Oh darn it you sunk my" Blankenship. Tell me one good name that he has made in the last 3-4 years. None thats how many. His sayings are more tired than a dumb dog who chases his tail. He doesnt add much if anything to a telecast anymore. Also Theisman and Patrick the best in the business. No way! Here again are guys that seem to love everyone and never criticize someone when they deserve it.

Chris Berman shows his ugly mug in every major sporting event now. Players Championship, Berman is there doing play by play. Basball playoffs he is there, or at any baseball game where there is a milestone pending. Berman is unwatchable on NFL Primetime.

Stuart Scott is terrible. I don't want to hear an anchor describe amazing sport highlights as, "That's stupid", "thats sick". If I had to pick one, it would be Chris Berman.

at least vitale knows what the hell he is talking about as opposed to scott who is just flat out clueless.

you might not like what vitale is saying but at least he knows what he is talking about (most of the time). during our production meetings for the 1991 ncaa tourney dickie v would frequently bring up a lot of valid and important points that we used on the shows.

i will ALWAYS have a soft spot in my heart for berman after the way he treated me there and what he did for my bro. one of my last days there i took a pic on the set of primetime with him and tom jackson (and for a broncos' fan like me - this was heaven). i then blew up the pic to a 20" by 30" and got it framed and it has hung on my wall ever since. i sense he has changed in the years since i left - but until/unless he "F's" me over - i have nothing but great things to say about him.

if you want to see how he works - the next time you see an espn anchor and the desk in front of him, take a look at how nice and neat it is. then when berman is on - take a look at how scattered the papers are. yet somehow he gets it done and EVERY prod. assistant there dreams berman will do their hilite package.

Coloradobuff- First of all, if you're from Boulder, that is a sweet town! Made a visit there a couple of years ago, and loved it. Anyway, I'm sorry if I'm not critical enough for you. I personally love Sunday night football, and can't think of a better combination in the booth. Al Michaels is a legend, but Madden cancels out most of what he brings. Mike Patrick is my favorite play by play guy, and is good in many sports. And Theismann knows exactly what he's talking about. Who's better? As far as Berman goes, I think you guys need to lighten up. I enjoy watching him, and think he brings a lot of light-hearted fun, if you let it be fun. He's doing something right, and obviously you guys are in the minority, or he would have been gone a long time ago.

At last someone agrees w/me, Scott is a phony little prick, always trying to be Joe Cool & hip. He keeps the job because of his color! Vitale IS annoying but he does love Col hoops & is knowledgeable. Berman is not as good as he once was but I`d miss him. I really like Tom Jackson a lot. Can`t stand Sauldsbury (sp)! Some of the game guys for Col. FB are also pretty bad. But as someone said we`re a captive audience.

I find both Stuart Scott and Vitale very annoying. I look forward to some of the football shows and pre-games. A couple of decent SC anchors are rising, call me crazy but I'm a Linda Cohn fan.

Dick Vitale is not knowledgable about the game. At least not now. He has become a joke really. He is entertaining doing his shtick, "Get a TO Baby". But his analysis at this years NBA draft was embarrassing.
