Another 3-4 years of this, and I will have to say he is better than MANNY.

Still just a TAD early to say he is better yet.

The only thing keeping him down somewhat is where he plays...

Imagine if he played in New York or Boston or Chicago?

That's BS. It's not like the Cardinals are a secret. St Louis is widely recognized as the best baseball city in America. And people all across America know exactly what he's doing everyday.

Fish is in denial! It's okay, Manny's still good, but not Pujols good.

Illini-
I have to disagree with you on both accounts......however slight.

St. Louis a GREAT baseball city you are correct, but playing for the Red Sox or even more so the Yankees, he would garnish alot more recognition.

I mean, just look how that overrated Jeter gets hyped.

Pujols better than Ramirez???

He is on his way, I dont doubt that.

At this juncture of the game though, MANNY's tenure in the league earns him enough respect to be regarded better at this time IMO.

There is no doubt though that he is a much better all-around player than Manny.....lets just wait 3-4 more years before we compare him to Manny offensively.

I agree with Fish... Manny's played much longer, his status has been earned over time...The only thing holding Albert back some is longevity, nothing he can do about that...His numbers are absolutely staggering all the way around!

Fish-I see what you mean about Jeter and the NY media. Maybe he would get more recognition from people that are not baseball fans. But every baseball fan knows just how good he is. Scary-good.

Pipe-they weren't even gonna trade him. They were trying to give him away for free, just to dump his salary on someone else.

Reporter: "So Manny, how bad do you want to beat the Yankees?"

Manny: "I love the Yankees, I think I want to play here when I'm done in Boston."

Only Manny!

Yes they were talking about trading Manny to texas for A-Rod. The irrevocabal waiver move was before that. If they dumped Manny, I have no idea what Epstien would have got in his place. I must admit, 25 million is a lot to pay anyone in '04.
