In 1989 Pete Rose was accused of betting on baseball during his tenure as the manager of the Cincinnati Reds. The major league baseball commissioner at the time, Bart Giamatti, studied the evidence and ruled that Rose would no longer be associated with the league. Rose was then banned for life and continued to profess his innocence for 14 years. In January of 2004, during an interview, Rose admitted he was guilty. Rose also admitted he bet on baseball in his book which, coincidentally, was released the same day of the interview.

Do you really belive he's the only athlete to bet on his own sport? As long as you don't bet on your own team to lose i don't see any problem. Just my opinion.
