As someone who lives in Monmouth County, I can assure you that this is exactly how people drive here. No one knows what they're doing anymore, and the few that do are too busy yapping into their cell phones to give a shit. And it gets even worse when these damn New Yorkers invade for the summer. And then people complain that their car insurance is too high.

local area too aggressive and unnerving,take
a trip to India for a couple of weeks.the only
traffic law on the books there is that it is illegal
to hit a cow;Btw you will have plenty of opportunities to practice avoid hitting cows.
