Thinking about taking a trip to Vegas tomorrow.

I can get RT airfare for 2 for $250.

Or I can drive the 620 miles RT.

Which would you do?

If your Wonderland Ranch location signifies the Santa Ynez region then I would be inclined to fly rather than fight all that traffic through greater LA.

If you want to take your time getting there and getting back then I would drive and make it more of a "trip" than a "getaway".

If you just want to get to Vegas and get there (and back) quick then fly.

I am trying to talk myself into driving, but flying there has spoiled me

hoover damn is a pain right now, with the contruction.

and then sitting in my truck for 5 hours, then the long drive back.

then again, by the time you get to the airport and check in and get on your plane that is 2 hours, with 45 mins of flying, then another half hour for the limo to pick you up, and get you to the hotel, we are talking only an additonal 1.5 hours for driving time.

damn, i am just sick of driving, i have done a fair share of it at my age of 28

you mentioned Hoover Dam,so you will be embarking from Arizona no?? try going
through Laughlin.stop by the river and go
for a quick swim.the water will be colder
than you think,so just edge yourself in.
you will be refreshed and ready to
resume the journey.Plus you get to drive
through downtown Searchlight that way.

In a way the 747 shot is a little scary for non-flyers, FWIW I have flown on all kinds of rattletrap aircraft and really enjoy flying.

If it was me, a trip less than two days and a car isn't needed then I'd fly. Longer than that or if I wanted to go all over then I'd drive. Driving would probably cost you less and maybe you could get your old lady to drive while you sleep.
