I am going to look for the ball Franco Harris caught in the 1972 playoff game vs Oakland...

- the immaculate reception ball....one of my first memories of football

Shrink please a little respect for one of our great institutions.

The football Hall of Fame is worth visiting. It's in Canton, Ohio, which is in a perfect Midwest football setting.

Another great place is the Packer Hall of Fame in Green Bay. I spent 8 hours in there, although I think a normal, sane person probably could see it in less than 2 hours.

Was out there a few years back ,the weekend after OJ made a mess with his wife and her friend. Was coming back from the Nascar race out in Mighigan and stopped in.It was a nice place to see,but if I had to tell someone which one i would prefer,Cooperstown or Canton,I would tell them to go to the Baseball Hall of fame. For whatever reason , just thought there was more to see at Cooperstown, and I am more of a football fan than a baseball fan

Most of the Hall of Fame locations are a bit underwhelming. Being a Hockey fan I was all fired up about that one in Toronto and left pretty disappointed other than seeing the Stanley Cup. Baseball's is nice, but just so far off the beaten track you kind of have this feeling of "I came all this way for that?" and going to Springfield will leave you feeling sort of that way for the NBA as well. Football's is probably worth a half-day, but I wouldn't make a big trip out of it myself. Put it this way, I think most people would find a day at one of the Smithsonians a better experience IMO.

WB...living 45 minutes from Wash D.C. I have been to the Smithsonian countless times, I agree its a great experience, its something I guess I have taken for granted, living so close to a lot of American History ...Fort McHenry , Wahington D.C.

Highly reccomend it. They have a theatre that has all those old John Facinda nfl shows, much better in a big theatre, even though youve seen them all. Right next to a high school football stadium.
