St Louis Cardinals can win the division by 15 games, when the playoffs start, it's a brand new ballgame.

Cubs are still the team to beat in NL in my estimation assuming pitchers are healthy by October

two things i dont like about the cubs lineup this year, they arent playing todd walker enough, he is the best hitting option they have at second, but they keep using Grudzelanik (injuries), and others...

Also, i dont think Ramirez should be batting 6th, he should be 3rd or 4th at worst.....He could protect Sosa, or vice versa, but i hate to see a bat as good as his, and as hot as he is now, not even get up in the first inning, and sometimes not get around to him that last time....I would want his bat hitting as much as possible.....

with new acquisitions, i would like them to go with....

patterson
walker
sosa
ramirez
garciaparra
alou
lee
barrett
pitcher

with lefty on the mound

grudzelanik
garciaparra
sosa
ramirez
alou
lee
macias
barrett

Hopefully, the addition of Nomar will get their offense going. One of the problems with this Cub team is that they like to hack at the ball and draw very few walks. I believe that they are second to last in the National league in walks thereby reducing their obp to a rather low .325. This team batting in Wrigley field should be doing far better than that !

You can find a bad stastic on every team in baseball if you really look for it. I think its still one of the better offenses in NL and now it will be better

Nomar is the #1 hacker in baseball. He doesn't walk!

I didn't say that Nomar wasn't a hacker but you can hack all you want if your lifetime batting aveerage is .323 and your obp is .370 and slugging average is . 553 I'm just saying that the Cub are not tops in the league in offense and their lack of discipline at the plate is a big reason check it out !

Nomar has 406 k in 3968 ab for 1 strikeout for every 9.77 at bats
Sammy Sosa has 2053 strikeouts for 7818 at bats for a dismal 1 strikeout for every 3.8 at bats ! This sucks big time and is what separates Sosa from some of the great hitterss of our day.
