Officially August let the football start.

Just turned midnight Eastern which makes it officially August. The season kicks off with a night game on Monday, Aug. 9 when the Denver Broncos face the Washington Redskins in the Hall of Fame Game (ABC, 9 p.m. ET) in Canton Ohio.

Froggy, one more favor, lose the best wishes line, it reaks of phoniness. I am already (posted somewhere) playing the Jaqs +3.5 -110 on opening day against the Bills. I will add now that I have a feeling this game will go to -3 Bills - in which case I will look to lay some -2.5 -125 to get some money on both side of 3. That said my play is Jacksonville plus 3.5 minus as little juice as possible. So it breaks down to a straight bet on Jacksonville, and some money on both sides 3 looking to middle that number in what looks to be a defensive game. I have not got the -2.5 yet though and there is no guarantee I will. No problem because I am comfortable with the bet I have. The middle would be gravy.

I like my best wishes line wil. It does not reek to me. I pretty much ignore openers as would hate to see my starting QB get injured in preseason. But I do have a sweet spot in first week of preseason already, maybe two. As far as your Jags play, Bills all of a sudden upgrading, trying to get competitive. I would not usually lay heavy on the takeback, maybe a cheap 3 for a rail or middle. But you may like laying juice more than FROG. Frogster, now don't get all upset or anything, but try to cut back on the Frogese as much as possible if you know what I mean. Just a simple reason why you like a certain side and if you like one of your alphabet deals. I root for you to win, honest. It is only when you mess it up with scalp stuff, or buy back. I mean if you like a side say it. Tonight for example all the guys who followed your scalp made diddly, in case you forgot the dog has to win when you lay a dime and take 117. Also any others who did not play the Twins are out money for just playing the plus 117, thats not good. As far as your handicapping pitchers goes, well I can only say it needs improvement. Example Kirk Saarloos the other night, I mean you made it sound like he was the second comming of Cy Young, but he never got out of the 3rd. inning getting shelled for 5 runs in 2 and a third. Sure you won the bet but it was in the 9th when the starters were long gone. We all win and lose these type of games, but it should be a wake up call when your pitcher gets shelled like that. I noticed you never bumped the Tigers thread, can't say I blame you, tuff loss just like tonight was a tuff loss for Red Sox bettors. As for Derek Lowe you better take a look at his numbers, I mean a good look, he is pitching much better of late. Anyway I am getting long winded, but I will give you a shot at me, forget teams, you pick one guy (pitcher) and I will pick one guy who we think will pitch well tommorow. To make it fair no one over a buck fifty favorite. What do you say? If I lose I will leave you alone until football (reg season).
