Anyone think this is good value.

I think the Cubs have a good chance of catching them, at least 1 in 50 anyone disagree....what do you think the odds should be?

Basically betting that the Cubs catch them. I don't like it. What are the odds for Cubs to win the Central?

Pretty much the same...around 20-1 at the site I'm looking at...I already bet the Cards as hard as I could...

Anyone know how many times in the last 50 years a team caught another team after being down 9 games at this stage...didn't the Twins do it a few years ago?

100 X 20 = 2000 Cubs to win Central
100 X 50 = 5000 Cards to win wild card

If it pans out either way you win, but it could be cards win Central and cubs dont even finish in the money. I'd say worth a shot at those odds and current standings.

$200 risk with a min 20/1 payout, ASSUMING they both get in the playoffs.

I think i got that right. Be sure to correct me if i'm off.

Both those bets are for the same thing...

Cubs to win the central.

So no scalp/hedge available. I think that's what you meant?

Right. Just seeing that you can wager both. As things are now, you secure a profit, but alot of bases to go. I think its worth a chance this way with little risk.

I'm not clear as to how you would be securing a small profit on that one.

Clay,

Only if Cubs and Card make playoffs. One as WC and one as Central winner.

It is not locked in for certain unless they do and as I said above lots of bases to go.

Waste of money if you ask me. Put it this way, if the Cards go 27-28 the rest of the way, the Cubs would have to go 36-18 to tie them. I think the NL is fairly weak all around so the Cards going under .500 the rest of the way is a real stretch and the Cubs going almost .700 is as well. I would make the odds at least 100-1, because you can't forget that if the Cards were to falter badly, there are a couple of teams almost even with the Cubs that could also complicate the situation as well. In short there have to be better longshots out there.

The MAIN that I see here is that if the Cardinals fucck up that bad, they wouldnt win the wild card either! They could very EASILY lose trhe division and lose the wild card in the same breathe! But I dont see either one of them happening
