Sitting here bored as hell reading up on the upcoming college and NFL season while listening to some CDs I haven't heard in a long while. Popped in Ice Cube's Death Certificate album and told my friend this is possibly one of the best rap albums of all time but he seems to disagree. I can't think of any other rap album that can measure up to this one, can you?

Funny he has a song on this CD called "A Bird in the Hand is worth more than a Bush" where he's referencing to Papa Bush when he was in office. Funny how some music can stand the test of time

Yeah Paid in Full is probably one of my favorite songs especially the remix with the Arabic chic singing in it. Cube's Death Certificate CD though is one of the few I can listen to from end to end without fastforwarding. His storytelling ability on this CD is amazing. He was able to make this CD informative, funny and entertaining. Better than most of the bullcrap out there these days.

SS, not related to gambling but figured hey I was capping while thinking about this question so let me ask the board. Let me ask you SS, do you like Linkin Park or Limp Bizkit?

I like the old classics... 'Jam Bands' dead, stones, floyd... things like that...

In terms of current bands most that I like are not commonly known... do love Phish, & many other Jam Bands...

From the style you are referring too 'Kid Rock' is actually very talented... he jammed on stage with Phish one show that I was at...

Limp kizkit (I havent heard them much) but a little too hard for me I think....

Dave Mathews is good... that is pretty much the style I am in to...

Notice my Avatar is Gerry Garcia from the 'grateful dead'

SS I'm really good friends with the keyboardist of New Monsoon (if you know them) and they're coming back into town here on the 20th so I'm psyched to see them. They just got a new tour bus (their first) and are really touring their tails off. If you like jam bands they are pretty good. Just my .02.

Kid Rock is a cool cat, I met him once. I like how he incorporates different genres in his style. Yeah I thought that was Gerry Garcia in your avatar so I can see why you don't like rap and Limp, not my cup of tea but hey to each its own!

ss,if it doesnt have anything to do with offshore gambling then why comment?i also like jam bands the smuckers raspberries first album 'on toast' is my favorite.

First off sorry go for hijacking your thread off-topic (FWIW I always enjoyed a good Ice Cube album lol).

SS yeah they have a lot of reviews (always good) and were given most promising jam band of 03 by Jambase http://www.jambase.com is the url.

The band website is http://www.newmonsoon.com

I think you're up in Canada (trying to remember and apologize if I'm wrong) so I don't know if they're going up there anytime soon or not but they tour a lot. If they come in your area I'm sure I can get you backstage with the bands. He's really cool about getting the VIP/Backstage passes but they're usually for large festivals and stuff since that is where most of the jam bands seem to play.

All Eyez On Me by Tupac Shakur was the best rap/r&b album but...

Makaveli the 7-day Theory is a masterpiece, it's a combination of everything put into one.
At first I didn't like Makaveli because I didnt get it. But now it scares the shit out of me everytime I go back to listen to it.
Black Jesus lol

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

EGD, forgot all about Makaveli's 7 day theory, damn that does rate up there in the top 10 with Death Certificate but I don't think it surpasses it, damn near close though and how could I forget Raising Hell! Run DMC was and still is my favorite rap group of all time barely edging out Tribe Called Quest but Raising Hell isn't better than Death Certificate IMO. Wasn't Rock Box on Raising Hell, I forget???
