I'm not talking just any player but, Hall of Famer, SuperStar. Mine is Dan Marino.I'm not saying he wasn't a good QB or anything, but in my mind he wasn't a superstar, especially to the level the media has put him. The guy made more bad plays and picks at bad times when it counted then I can remember. And most of the time he would look around and blame everyone else. All of those stats were OK and all but also overrated at the same time. Final anylsis, I wouldn't have him anywhere near my top 10 QBs. Guys like Elway,Montana,Bradshaw,Johnny U,Favre,Akiman,Young,Starr,Staubach, and even now Brady are way better in the clutch then this guy was. I'm sure I'm leaving out others too.

Its got nothing to do with championships either,Marino just didn't make consistent great decisions. Of course I would take brady over marino, and and I wouldn't think twice about it

scottie pippen

I was starting to agree with you, but then I was thinking of that utah series when he dropped in those tough hooks with a bad back, then when jordan left to play baseball he still helped the team to a winning season. pippen never looked like crap until he was older and went to houston and had a drinking problem.

BO JACKSON was unstopable in the first tecmo bowl. .it didnt matter what your D picked, BO was coming up big. still, the bears were the best and dave duerson is easily the cart's MVP. you couldnt stop that 1 play with the TE slant if you paid me to show you

Try,
A career .250 hitter in baseball, his top 2 football years were 950 yards and 698 yards. He averaged 10 catches a year and 4 TD's. He never finished in the top 10 in any major statistical category in football. I know he played in only 10-11 games these years. This is not a superstar. He had some amazing highlights in both sports and he might have been a superstar if he played football year round. However, he was a good player in both but was overrated in both.

how about the time he sat on the bench when his number wasn't called to take the last shot at the end of a game...this was one of the years jordan was "retired".

or before that, when he sat out a playoff game with a headache.

this guy didn't do a thing without jordan. he may have been on a team with a winning record during the years jordan was gone but, he was a very selfish player.

look at what he did afer jordan left the bulls for good in 98....absolutely nothing.

one of the top 50 players of all time my ass.

OK Blue you're right . . But I went to a Celtics game a year ago, and they were playing Portland and Scottie avg. like 13 ppg that year. Port was up 8, and the time was running down and Pip just stood there muscling the ball back and forth casually and slowly with the clock running out. Even though he didnt do crap in the game, I thought Scottie was so bad because he was just hunched over muscling the ball back and forth and he kept talking crap to the guy who was gaurding him. he just kept talking and talking, and even though he was just running the clock out, Scottie managed to be bigger than that. And that's why he is a bad ass to me.
