did anyone see Delta Burke - I mean - Gayle Grdener - on SportsCenter last night/this morning?

if so - HOLY COW!

it looks as if she was on the don koharski "diet" of "have another donut, you fat pig."

for once - stuart scott wasn't the biggest boob on a show - no easy accomplishment for the worst ever sports broadcaster.

(that CLASSIC line uttered by Jim Schoenfeld to Don Koharski during a NJ/Bos NHL playoff game).

I was going to ask the same question ...She not only looks huge, she seemed to be S-L-O-W ??? Studdering sort of, she seemed to be too old to do SportsCenter...her voice and delivery were not even close to how she use to be...She was an anchor here in Baltimore for years before ESPN...the old gal has seen better days that's for sure...

But seriously, they should have NEVER shown a full body pose of her. Waist on up, but perhaps it was an inside joke by the camera crew and the switchboard operator.

-She had a good story regarding Scotty Bowman and the Montreal Canadiens when she was in the locker room way back, when Scotty saw her in the dressing room for the 1st time he immediately through her and the cameraman out regardless of her credentials. Funny thing is Don Cherry, the Bruins coach back then was very vocal and came to her defense that ...blah..blah..she should be allowed in the room..etc..

Journey - i was there about 4 years after her

Hawk - i heard that about Jayne Kennedy and i saw her on TV sometime ago and she was ENORMOUS! she was HOT in her younger days and her playboy layout (tease - didn't show much) was great (done with her hubby at the time) but i have heard she is now a blimp.

According to r.martzke's USA Today column, Gardner has had some serious health problems over the last five years. He infers that she's out looking for a job...

Have to disagree with Red Eye about ESPN in general though. Sportscenter has really gone down hill over the years. Used to be straight sports. Now its all about ESPN "personalities" all trying to be comedians...weeklong series on music in sports (including the playing of full length music videos and live in studio bands). The network has gotten fat and happy with itself. Too bad there isn't any competition right now, and since they've bought the rights to seemingly every event that's not on broadcast tv, there won't be in in the future either.

Meanwhile, can they spring for surgery on Stuart Scott's left eye? What a distraction.

Stuart Scotts eye is like that because a few years ago he was doing a report from a training camp and got whacked with a football right in that eye from one of those machines that zips the passes. Boo Yah !

Sportscenter is awful...ESPNnews is somewhat less irritating
