The Lake Ontario fast-ferry won't be getting video lottery terminals any time soon.
A proposal to add the slot machine-like gambling devices to the "Spirit of Ontario" has been scuttled by the Democrat-controlled Assembly.
V-L-T parlors are currently operating at four upstate horse racing tracks, and Governor Pataki was proposing to expand that number by eight.
That would include the faster ferry, which travels daily from Rochester to Toronto.
The Rochester area's delegation at the state Legislature was hoping to get V-L-Ts added to the ferry as an added tourism draw.
But with Assembly Democrats opposed to the plan, the proposal is off the table for now.
