Everyone has all but given the NL MVP to either Rolen, Bonds, or Pujols...

But Adrien Beltre has carried that Dodgers team into a nice first place lead. Plus he is having a tremendous year...

His stats:
AVG: .325
HR: 32
RBI: 80

Imagine if he had Pujols and Edmonds around him!

True, he is having a great year, and the team is playing well. But this guy barely hit above the Mendoza line last year. Gotta have some sort of consistency to get any consideration for MVP.

i disagree. the mvp voting is all about this year...who cares about the past? beltre is certainly in the top 3 in n.l. and will likely get a lot of votes.

Beltre def has my vote. What he does for his team is more than What Rolen does for his team.

Take Beltre out of that lineup and they lose most games 2-1. Take Rolen out and they still can put up runs.

I don't disagree with you. I'm just saying that MVP is a lot of hype, and a lot of it depends on reputation. For example, Bonds will win it, even though he doesn't ever hustle, and has no arm anymore.

For some reason, baseball is different than basketball. There's no way Jordan should not have won MVP every year, once the Bulls got good. But he only won it a few times. Bonds, on the other hand, is a lock.

I think Bonds wins it. I can see Rolen and Pujols splitting the vote and Bonds benefitting.
