Like learning how the middle of the Craps board works, a little knowledge goes a long way towards making someone a loser in spots like this.

1. Don't hedge.
2. Seriously, don't hedge.
3. If you must hedge, and the games are not at the same time, don't be a total stiff and lock in an exact $600 profit by back to back betting 1st around 600 on game 1 and then 1200 on game 2. Note this strategy is employed by the great number of the squares sharps that think they are clever to lock in the profit, flushing away profits by loading up on hedge bet opposite the side they originally liked.

Even worst is the really square sharp play of playing 3 2 team parlays 'wheeling' all the combos not in the original bet.

A realistic, only somewhat square sharp play would call for a very modest game 4 hedge bet, and a modest game 5 hedge bet looking to pick up a few hundred if the 5-teamer goes down. That way you are not destroyed pyschologically following the no-hedge policy that is obviously the correct 'no brainer' play on a situation like yours where the payout is so small.

If the payout was 240,000 feel free to throw the above analysis into the trash can........

2,400 vs 240,000 is all bit relative to who's holding the ticket.

If you ask this question to Billy and then to Dante

I think you'd see my point.

If bets used to help. I used to use the first leg for a coat hanger for a small amount and then the second leg for a big amount. But, to my knowledge nobody allows that anymore. Just, like no more than double the first bet.
