I already have a source for MLB weather/wind related conditions that I use. Does anyone know where I can find stats that show average runs scored in each ballpark ?

If you go to ESPN's website, they break down each team by home and away. It will take a little work, but you should be able to get this.

If you're looking for "baseball park" factors, there is an excellent hybrid statistic in baseball prospectus, which can be used as a modifier for likelihood of homeruns (from larger/smaller outfield) as well as batting averages (which are also affected by small or large foul areas).

One of the best books written on baseball handicapping came out this year, called "Baseball Betting" by Michael Murray. You can get it through Gamblers Book Shop. He covers this subject well and gives a formula that basically figures out average runs per at-bat by both teams in the home park and then in the away park for any given team. Divide the home by the away and you get a percentage, which is your value to use in adjusting expected total runs. He also makes a good point that some parks show major characteristical differences between day and night games so keeping track of that can yield some great values.

If you want the runs scored stats lots of places like ESPN and MLB.com will break out team hitting stats by home/road. Do the same for pitching and just used the runs allowed, not earned runs, and you will have all you need to do a decent park rating.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

That ESPN chart is a good one! Damn I have been wasting my time collating that stat. Still if you have the time do the day/night breakdown, you can find some real gems in that one as the linesmaker almost never adjusts accurately for this differential.

I actually looked at day vs. night statistics, and it looked pretty random. Oddly enough, I didn't think to check solely by stadium.
Have you checked to see if stadiums are consistently day/night stadiums from year to year?

Big difference between day and night games in Oakland; the ball carries much better during the day.
