Fish, I think '98 is when I devoted myself to gambling and won more that year than I had pissed away not knowing what I was doing. Still the late 90's where a killing field for guys in the know. It is a tougher gig now depending on how much time you want to spend on it. The education this site and some like it should make regulars lifetime winners, BTW count bonuses and contest in that figure.

It should resemble the % winners in the field of commodity traders, and that figure is around 3-5%.

The 1-2% is correct for the entire country.

Tough call on just the RX posters.

I would say my 12 percent is high, just giving the posters the benefit of the doubt.

Believe the RX, although to some degree blessed with some experienced and knowledgeable members, with over 17,000 members is a fair representation of the cross section of gamblers in their entirety. Thus, believe the percentage of those showing a long term profit will reflect the same 5% or less figure commonly referred to throughout the industry.

Big problem boys.

Over 99% of 21 players are losers. And 21 is a very easy game to get the edge on.

Nevada holds 6.5% vs. sports bettors. The reason is partly that 99% of the bettors are losers. Maybe 99.6%. Maybe 98.7%. But only 95%? No way. Think about it. Get in line at any Strip hotel, and watch the next 100 guys go the window. You need 5 that are lifetime winners.

Good luck when you have to choose between Homer Simpson, Crusty the Clown, and Ralph Mouth as you best 3 from the first 20.

Lifetime is the kicker. You can run lucky for a year, maybe two, but chances are your luck runs out unless you are truly flexible, knowledgeable, well funded, and just plain resourceful. What makes it worse is those that win over any period of time get fooled and start raising their bets to where a bad season quickly wipes out what was won before.

If the person is still alive then its
indeterminate---one can always get lucky huh!!--
they haven't played out their "lifetime" yet.
If they are dead then they are beyond refute.
they can always have it carved on their tombstone "lifetime sports betting winner" and
who will argue?? If a person says they are "ahead of the game",then perhaps they are, in their own idiosyncratic private way.

It is funny given how few are lifetime winners how scared most books are of anyone who wins even a little.

Johnny D, your buds at Oasis would be a good example of that.

Well under 1 percent of 1 percent.
They don't build those hotels on winners.
People lie a lot on internet forums.
