A guy I know says he can get me into a big elimination league out of NY. says it's $50 person and their goal is 4000 people (had 3500-3800 last 4 years) Says 1/2 the pool goes to the winner and the other half goes to charity. i balked at this. how do i know that for sure? He says its a way to not call it gamblling. but i was under the impression that as long as the person running a pool isnt profiting from it, its cool. Is that true?
