Of course not, there are a million people in Clark County and they all work for the casinos. There are no bartenders, real estate agents, stock brokers, construction workers, etc. Only dealers, cocktail waitresses and Pit Bosses

sherman, work in construction or teach and you get hired as soon as you hit town. 1,500,000 people in metro area so you have the normal market but of course gaming and it's support services are the engine. Bottom line: LOTS of jobs. People come up lame and leave town daily. Been here 36 yrs and personally don't like it anymore, but LV has been good to me and anyone else who uses good judgement.....ScottyS

Sherman ( Hartford) : As a former Vegan, and a fellow Nutmeggar, I'll tell you straight.

Don't go there ! Unless you're a construction worker, I lived there, know what is like, not that good even so.

E-mail your phone number at dougj3733@aol.com, and a time to call. I'll tell you the deal.

Lawyers are a dime a dozen. Vegas attracts way too many personal injury attorneys--the "gambling memtality" suits them well. Collection attorneys have a difficult time--Vegas is way too transient and deadbeats galore.

You would never know it, but a lot of the top law firms in Vegas are controlled by Mormons. If in the one in a million chance you are an attorney and Mormon you will have no problem finding a job there.

The City Stop Texaco is starting clerks at $9.50 an hour and can't get enough help. I think that is amazing.

Sherman- Sure, there are plenty of jobs here but you better find one that pays really well because you'll need a very good paying job to afford to live here. The only redeeming quality that this shithole city used to have was affordable housing. Now that's long gone.

Stay where you are. Don't even think about moving to this cesspool. There's more sub human lowlife here than any city in America. Stay well.

No reason to work at an odd job paying < $12hr. The poker rooms in Las Vegas have some great games, especially on graveyard.

A thorough reading and understanding of Small-Stakes Hold'em: Winning Big with Expert Play by Ed Miller, David Sklansky, and Mason Malmuth for $24.95 should yield a heckuva lot more than a $12/hr J.O.B. You are also honing skills that could potentially be worth a whole lot more.

I have taught a handful of friends that were total beginners how to play. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast they became winning players.
