I was getting ready to replenish my Canbet account when I noticed that they have -110 on college football but still have -07 on the pros. I called and was told that for college football they will have -110 for the WHOLE season. Since Canbet has cut limits and put up lines later than before, they are just another book. I told them that I would call CS on monday and close my account and request my balance to be paid in full. What chicken craps they are! LT

Why is this titled "BEWARE"?

I didn't see anything in your whinning little thread that qualified as "scary".

Big deal - they cut your limits and upped the juice ... life goes on.

They have been taken over by Mark Read. His nick name has been for years 'The Chicken'.

Must be a recent change because USC/VTech was -107/-107 yesterday.

I noticed it was -110 myself. This used to be a good book a few years back. No reason to play here now as all the value is gone(last to put up lines and full limits) and the guy who runs the place is a moron.

bottom line they pay fast, and don't charge a fee for neteller.

Canbet has quietly been upping the juice on whatever sports they can get away with.

Don't advertise you are a reduced vig shop and then charge -110 for NCAA football.

You are right, they are becoming just another sportsbook. They used to be one of the fastest to put lines up but no more.

I still like them, and quite a bit actually.

Find some very good value in their lines at times, especially baseball.

I love their NO time-out feature and fast/free Neteller payouts.

Been with them for YEARS and have cashed and played tens of thousands of dollars there in futures and daily plays.

They have not returned any of my 4 emails to them at every conceivable email address and their customer service has been horrible recently whereas previously I had absolutely no problems ever.

Very disappointing.

Elk and Lander, this is MY money I am playing with, not yours. They WERE a reduced juice book. Not anymore. I signed for the reduced juice and it is NOT there anymore. I will move on and wanted others to be AWARE. Krackman hit the high points on the nose. Anyone have any dealings with BetAustralia? Thanks, LT

Coach, i changed the title to VEry Dissappointing for you, since that seems to be the main claim here....they are not delivering on what they used to...

I agree with your points, and understand why you are leaving, just wanted to clear up the title so someone doesnt get the idea they are slowpaying or stiffing a player...

Thanks coach.....

go get 'em this year in Foots....

(and dont forget your "half-pill"...

For those saying this is no big deal, let's look at it in terms of dollars (and sense). Assume a gambler bets an average of 10 college games per week-end and bets an average of a nickel per game. Let's assume he loses about half (5 gms/week-end) his games:

At -110: he risks 550/500; at -107: 535/500. With the increased vig, every loss costs the gambler an extra $15. Multiply that by 5 losses per week-end times about 10 week-ends (15x5x10) - that equals $750 extra lost (or less won) over the course of a college football season.

You decide if its a big deal. For everyone that thinks its no big deal, I'll post my email address and you can send me $750 via PayPal - its a big deal to me.

Thanks for clearing the title up a bit. I probably used the wrong term and you used the right one. I have had a couple of WHOLE ones lately. Thanks for your interest. LT

I for one am grateful for the post. There are plenty of places I can find -110 on NCAAF that won't cut limits like Canbet. For me, Canbet's only value was -107 for NCAAF.

old dog, turn that on its ear. You don't lose vig to losses, you lose it on wins. So using a 50/50 win loss is jaded because you are not really "losing to vig" you are losing because you are betting more.

Rather than 550 versus 535. Do it as a straight 500. At -110 over 10 weeks (10 plays a week) at 500 per play at 50% is negative 2272.72.

With -107 the figure would be negative 1635.51.

So while it is still 637.21, it is not the 750 you cite. That is why when people lay that extra money beforehand "to make up the vig" they are putting a higher burden on themselves to win at a higher percentage.

LT, I deal with BetAustralia. They advertise -107 on football and offer -102 on, I think, Wednesdays. That's NFL. Can't recall ever checking their college football lines.

I would personally keep them funded at least partially for a bit longer to see how this season plays out. Beyond just the low juice they used to be fairly slow to move a number, seemed to be one of the few places that actually moved on action and not air. If all the talk about the new operations are true that might disappear and it may not be much of a book to be with anymore, but I will wait to see if they still offer good numbers.

At the end of the day it isn't just about reduced juice, but actually offering numbers that differ from the "screen". Less of those around these days and when the chance to shop all but disappears that is when I think you will see some fat consolidation going on in the industry. Not there quite yet, but maybe in a year we could see it kicking off.
