yes i saw it. .man there are some real wierdos there though. celebrating by yelling like maniacs and running away from table pumping their fists, and no where near the final table.

its cool to see a guy like doyle just keep his cool and act like hes been there.

some guy was kidding fossilman about something and fossilman didnt like it, so they guy apologized and went to shake his hand and fossilman refused to do it. both guys in scenario losers and pricks IMO.

there are some real real wierd people at this thing. this is the problem with letting internet players on though.

if i ever go to one of these things, i will be as cool and congenial as possible.

i did not see krackman though

I think Krackman was at the table when the girl who worked for Maxim got knocked out.

I agree Rob. I had a coach who said, "when you win, act like you have done it before". These guys flopping on the table when they win is embarrassing IMO.

This is why sometimes its an advantage to be a little cute girl in a poker tourney. The girl I was talking about is 21 year old Erin Ness. Who lives just a few minutes away from me. It was her first tournament ever. Her boss(the owner of Maxim magazine)put the 10k up for her in the tourney. She gave maxim plenty of great exposure and they did a whole story on her for espn. She had to give the 10k she earned for her 3 days and 40 hours of work to get in the money.

I won a seat in the tourney and won 15k so I was happy but a little sad because I lost HUGE pots with pocket rockets(one where I had Josh Ariyeh all in but his pocket 99 beat my pocket AA) HE THEN WENT ON TO COME IN 3RD AND WIN 2.5MIL. I will send an article I wrote to Shrink for the homepage.

You know you guys are so fricking right. If I was asked what the number one I hate about poker tournaments it would be the mornic cocky 20 year old's with no class or respect for the game.

Then again if it weren't for the Moneymakers of the world it wouldn't be as easy as it is to make money in poker.

Dante- I can't take it as serious as most of these guys. So I figured go have fun and as usual never think about the money.

Rob- that guy was Mike Matusow and he taunts and teases everyone. Your basic poker punk I guess. From what I am told he makes a lot of money though.

great read

quote:
Now, when I say “run it twice,” I mean the dealer would burn and turn as usual. Whoever had the best hand after all five community cards were faceup would be up one leg.

Then, both the turn and river cards would be thrown into the muck and the dealer would once again burn and turn, revealing a new turn card as well as a new river card. If you win both legs, you win the whole pot. If you win just one leg, you split the middle. If you lose both legs — well, you cry about your bad luck!

that sounds like fun. . ive never heard of this before. . .i dont see how the hell any of those guys were counting on making good money with so much talent sitting at that table, but i guess that makes them all better players from that type of expierence

It only takes one fish to sit with them. Some of the pros are better than others and could likely win money off others, but in general they just need one fish to make the game worth playing.

Running them twice is illegal in California. Not sure if it is in Vegas, but I know it is done on occasion there.

Matusow was a multi millionaire a few years ago and pissed it all away. But that is thelife of these guys. They win a million today and lose it all within the year. Moneymaker was bust by September last year after winning the thing.

It all makes for good TV, like how they show Negraneau driving around in a 50K Lexus, or running Ellix as a homeless guy. it is all about the marketting and editting. Making people think they can go from rags to riches.
But like Krackman says it makes for some decent money, but also for some brutalizingly bad beats. So it is a toss up.
