Dear Customers,

We are about to release an update on our web site which is designed to increase the speed of our site and at the same time enable our customers to see the updated lines via color changes (a la DonBest).

We would welcome anyone (well, the first 100 in any case) who volunteers to test this out for us. Specifically, the ideal beta tester is a customer who spends a lot of time on our site and who will be willing to use the test site throughout the weekend.

If you are interested, please email beta@pinnaclesports.com.

Regards,

I think its much better to change the background color to red, green, and blue instead of the text color.

First of all, thanks for the update.

1. Right click and then refresh
I will work on the refresh bug.

2. No "Update Lines”
We intend to control the refresh rate with this new approach so no "Update Lines" button.

We have a large amount of customers who insist on "refreshing" their lines at a very high frequency. We have spotted a large number of automated tools that come to our site several times a minutes. We once kicked of a "robot" that was picking up our lines 4 times a seconds. We realize that our customers want fresh lines. So we're hoping with this approach to come to a compromise. When WE refresh the lines we will give you color coded changes. When you refresh the lines on your own everything comes back in one color.

3. No “Rotation Number Search”
The rotation number was introduced when we had to resort to pagination in order to manage web server load. Server load is greater when there are more games on a page. When we first introduced pagination we did achieve some load reduction but customers would scroll through the pages as quick as they could to get to the one they were interested in. Showing page numbers and a rotation number search helped quite a bit. Since we are now showing the entire list of games on one page with this system we didn't feel the need to include this functionality. With this new approach we only send the updated games and we let the browser take care of building the HTML.

3. Changing the background instead of the text colors.
I got various feedbacks on which colors to use, etc. I'll wait to see the other comments before making a decision.

P.S. For anyone interested in helping out during this test note the following. The link posted in this forum won't work as posted. If you want to participate I insist that you send an email to beta@pinnaclesports.com. The test site can take bets and it is real money.

Thats great. Its better when all the games are on one page because sometimes during the NCAA basketball season there were 7+ pages of games. Also, I noticed since the page is refreshing every 30 seconds the software doesnt time out anymore, Thats good.

Login here:
http://www20.pinnaclesports.com/default.asp

After you login click on MLB, see the drop down boxes under "Wager Menu", if you select any of them (except for Propositions) the address bar doesnt update. So if the user clicks on the browsers Refresh button the software will always take him back to the MLB page.

Also, I noticed I lose all the text colors when I leave a page and comeback a second later after placing a wager. That doesnt happen with Olympic software!

That guy was definitely getting the pick of the litter, at 4 scans per second.

Dear Scorpion.

Issue #1.
Refreshing should not take you back to the original sport. We have a release ready to go to address this bug. It will be there in about 2 hours from now.

Issue #2.
We have a different approach than some of our competitors. Our intent is to give you a view of our lines with which you can interact. Giving you the ability to clear changes as you see them enables you to spot line changes instantly (well, every 30 seconds anyhow). If we simply showed you the lines changed in the last 15 minutes the entire screen would be colored by post time on a Saturday morning and you would lose this benefit.

Thanks for the feedback.

When I logged in this morning I got the new version. I left shortly after noon EDT for my constitutional and now I'm back I get the old version.

I guess it's almost ready to roll out but had some bugs. It was noticeably slower on the initial load.
